We had a really awesome experience with Memo and the Basic Instinct! Memo was super friendly and accommodating and it was just very enjoyable to hang out with him on the boat and learn a lot about the bay area and sailing in general! Would 100% book again!
Captain Memo was AWESOME! The sailing was amazing on the San Francisco Bay. He took us to see so many things Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge, Alcatraz, etc. Added bonus, he made cookies and had a bunch of other snacks. We had so much fun and I'd definitely do this again the next time family is in town. Highly recommend.
What a perfect evening! Memo is great! We spent a fun evening celebrating one of our friends birthday on his beautiful boat, “Basic Instinct”. He is really informed and taught us a lot about sailing and the surrounding neighborhood. I’d highly recommend going with Capt Memo if you are looking to have some good time on the water!

Our trip out on the SF Bay with Captain Memo was a delight. He made the journey a blast for our entire family and shared all kinds of amazing details about the Bay. He also taught us a great deal about sailing. It was a truly unforgettable trip and I would wholeheartedly recommend Memo to anyone who wanted to experience the delight of sailing the San Francisco Bay.
Captain Memo was born to be a sailor! Literally hours after his birth in La Paz, Mexico, Memo was taken back out to his family’s 54’ Alden cutter, the "YoHoHo" which they sailed numerous times up and down the West Coast. Growing up in Sausalito, CA, Memo spent most of his early years growing up on, around, or in the waters of the San Francisco Bay Area. Starting with sailing small El Toros at the age of five, Memo has sailed extensively on everything from smaller and faster sailboats and catamarans, to larger ...racercruiser boats, along with some of the nicest old wooden boats on the bay over the years. Memo’s family was also very involved with the local boating community including being founders of Cass’s Marina, which was the first sailboat rental schools at that time in Sausalito in the 60’s and 70’s. Memo is also an accomplished professional race car driver, and has raced and driven some of the fastest cars in the world. Captain Memo holds a US Coast Guard 100 ton commercial captains license.
