Boating is (without contest) the most popular lake activity during the summer months, and this expansive watery playground plays host to a myriad of boating activities such as sailboat regattas and even one of the country’s leading wooden boat shows — the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance, which takes place every August. Boating culture reigns supreme for as long as the weather permits, and powerboats and jet skis dart across the water along with picturesque sailing vessels. For even more rental options be sure to look at all of Lake Tahoe for the most ideal location to start your boating adventure.
Boaters often partake in watersports as well, which range from the relaxing (such as kayaking to the exhilarating (such as parasailing, water skiing, and wakeboarding). Given the extreme depths of Lake Tahoe, scuba diving has also become a popular pastime, and can allow the adventurous to experience this beautiful lake in a unique way. Fishing and boating often go hand in hand, and Lake Tahoe has plenty of specimens to tempt any fisherman, from large and smallmouth bass and at least three different varieties of trout, to bluegill, sockeye salmon, and more.
We booked our boat through Max last minute and he was very accommodating and communicative. Boat looked exactly like it did in the pic and was in great working order. We had a great time out on the lake! Would use Max again in a heartbeat. Thanks Max!
We had such an awesome day cruising around Tahoe! John was great about communicating what to expect and quick to respond to all of our questions. The boat was great, there are plenty of cup holders and places to sit or lay out. And there is more than enough room for everyone to store their stuff so it’s not in the way. The top provides plenty of shade when you need it and folds up out of the way when you want some extra sun. There are internal ballast tanks and trim tabs to adjust the wake which makes it great for a group wanting to surf with varied ability levels. I would highly recommend, overall it was an amazing experience and we will be renting from John again next summer!
This is a killer wake surfing boat that is brand new, super comfortable and well maintained. We wake surfed, checked out a cliff jumping area, swam in Emerald Bay and caught a great sunset. If you can ask for John Ogle as your captain he was on point all day and really made the day enjoyable. Bring 2 bags of ice, some food for lunch, waters, towels and warm clothes for the ride back. Book your day out on the Moomba you won’t regret it!
Jason was very knowledgeable. His boat was exceptionally clean! Meeting up with him was very easy. He provided us with a cooler and ice at our request. He took us to several beautiful spots on the Lake. We enjoyed our day. Would highly recommend.
Paulette was wonderful and her boat is perfect for larger groups and families with small children. She has everything you need for a beautiful day out on the water and took us to the best spots. Great captain and great company…thanks, Paulette!
We have 8 adults and 2 kids in the boat. The boat is new and spacious, it's even equipped with heating tubes to warm you up when you get out of the water. John is also very easy to communicate with. The weather wasn't good for the day we scheduled so John recommended doing it the next day. That definitely made our experience much better.
