What You Can Expect:

Upon arrival at the beach on Taboga Island we will anchor and you can enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, swimming and jumping off the boat.  Taboga Island is an amazing place with a varied history.  Known as “The Island Of Flowers”, you can also enjoy exploring this fascinating island and the small town.  Take a step back in time and re-live this island just like the pirates of yesteryear, who used this island as their base of Operations for many years.

Private Evening Charters

A typical evening charter will depart the marina and sail around the spectacular Bay of Panama.  From our magical viewpoint, you will be able to see the lights and skyline of our vibrant city – but this viewpoint is like no other in Panama!  You will also enjoy the lights of the Amador Causeway, and of course, we will be traveling beside the famous Panama Canal.  Nothing, absolutely nothing, will make your jaw drop like a huge Panamax ship passing within 200 feet of our vessel, fully lit at night!  Depending on the time available, we may also travel through the Panama Canal anchorage past all of the ships waiting to enter the Canal.

What To Expect Onboard

Aboard the 27-meter wooden sailing vessel Azula, with four spacious cabins and deck space galore. Each cabin has air conditioning and private bathrooms. Our guests will be met at the marina and transported to the ship with your luggage.  As soon as all of our passengers are on board, we will give you a brief introduction and get under way. Although your trip is all about fun, Safety is #1 at Captain Rick’s and we will ask your attention during the short, mandatory Safety Briefing.  Music is provided and dancing is encouraged!! You can also bring your own as we are fully-equipped to handle iPods, USB drives etc.  We will set sail for the Island of Contadora and the beautiful Pearl Islands.

Relax on our comfortable lounge cushions on the spacious decks. Hold on to your drink as we set sail! You might prefer to sit by the captain and watch how he maneuvers the boat into the wind to hoist the sails. Some passengers prefer to sit comfortably at our large dining table as we set sail for one of the most beautiful Archipelagos of Panamá. If you like, you could even assist us with sailing. No obligations though!! We need to assign some people to find the dolphins and turtles, or maybe catch some fish!! During the mating season, whales are regularly seen in the Perlas and this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see whales in their natural environment.  Of course we cannot guarantee to spot wildlife but generally, we’re very lucky.

Once at the anchorage, we will get your snorkeling gear and Kayaks. One of our experienced crew members will guide and assist you to the best places to see the rich Panamanian underwater world. For those who want to stay dry, we will serve you another drink while we light the BBQ and start grilling your food. In case you are vegetarian or have special requirements, just let us know. Lunch is served!.

Let us put you in a perfect location for a beautiful sunset over the Pacific Ocean. Once the sun has set and darkness falls, we will turn on our blue underwater LED lights and deck lights. It’s salsa time! When the evening winds down, you will be gently rocked to sleep in your private cabin by the slow rocking of our beautiful ship.  Enjoy the evening and take home a memory you will never forget!
