Fort Walton Beach Vacation & Boat Rental FAQs

What is Fort Walton Beach known for?

Fort Walton Beach is known for the soft, white sandy beaches and for being a quieter vacation destination. It’s less popular than nearby Destin, offering more affordable accommodation options and less of a party crowd atmosphere. It’s great for older couples or families with young children who want a relaxing vacation without hoards of people on the beaches.

Does Fort Walton Beach have clear water?

The water and beaches around the Emerald Coast of Florida’s panhandle (where Fort Walton Beach is) are arguably the best in the entire state. They offer incredible swimming and sunbathing conditions, and you’ll definitely want to bring a mask and snorkel to enjoy the high visibility in the waters here.

Is Fort Walton Beach crowded?

During the Spring Break season, it’s always busy on all beaches of Florida. If you visit during the low season or one of the shoulder seasons, Fort Walton Beach can be very welcoming and not too crowded. If you visit during Spring Break and want to avoid the hoards of people on the sand - rent a boat during your stay in Fort Walton Beach to cruise around away from the crowds.

Explore Destin or Crab Island on our 2021 Bentley Pontoon

I booked this trip for 9 of us for a bachelorette party. And let me tell you, this was the BEST part about our weekend in Destin! Mac was our captain for the day. He was committed to provide exceptional service and a great time. He nailed it. He was an experienced driver, leaving us to feel very safe throughout our time on the pontoon. We anchored at crab island. There was cooler space under the seats (we brought ice and our drinks/food) and a floating mat for us to lounge on. Messages through GetMyBoat were always answered promptly. I would highly recommend this boat/activity if you’re in Destin. Thank you for an incredible day!!! We will definitely rent again!!!!!

From the very beginning Ian was so quick to respond regarding any questions I had. He was clear in his directions on when and where to meet. The trip was wonderful and the boat was superb! We will definitely book again in the future and encourage anyone considering booking Ian to do so!

25' Power Catamaran in Fort Walton Beach/Destin with Captain!

Nathan was easy going and very communicative from the start. He scheduled a pickup close to our accommodations and had a cooler with ice for us as well as a fun lily pad to lounge. Pricing was fair and a great find for us booking last minute. Would highly recommend Capt. Nathan for your boat excursion fun!

25' Power Catamaran in Fort Walton Beach/Destin with Captain!

We had an awesome experience with Captain Nathan! My 18 year old even said it’s the best charter he’s been on…my 8 year old had a blast, and the captain was super personable and fun to talk to!! He knew all the best locations to go to. We hit Crab Island, but then he knew the perfect place to see dolphins!!! It was an amazing day thanks to Captain Nathan!!!

25' Power Catamaran in Fort Walton Beach/Destin with Captain!

Captain Nathan was absolutely amazing. Not only was he on time and very communicative, but he was just simply awesome on our trip. He kept offering to get us anything we needed off the boat while we were in the water so that we didn't have to even get out! We LOVED his float and paddle board that he provided! He was so nice and attentive! We will absolutely book again when in Destin!
