Sitges is a city in the Catalonia region of Spain. It’s about a 45-minute drive from Barcelona, and it sits on the Mediterranean coast. It’s surrounded by the Garraf’s Parc Mountains, giving it a stunning appearance. It’s known for being a quieter coastal town, a fantastic alternative for accommodation from the expensive hotels and rentals in Barcelona, while still being close to this crowded city.
The best time of year to visit Sitges is during the summer shoulder months of April and May or September and October. While it is cheaper than Barcelona, and much less crowded, it will still be much busier during the peak months of June through August. It doesn’t get bitter cold in the winter, but it’s likely it will be too chilly to enjoy time on a boat. The winter months are good if you want to travel on a budget and don’t mind wearing a few layers.
To get to Sitges the easiest way is to take a flight to Barcelona and from there take a bus, train or rent a car for the quick drive. You can also arrive in Sitges from other cities in Spain by bus and train. While in the city, you can access mostly everything on foot, or by taxi if you don’t want to walk. It’s a small and concentrated coastal city.
We had a wonderful day on this beautiful catamaran. Plenty of food and drinks kept us going, and Captain Borja and stewardess Esther were very helpful and accommodating, especially when one of our group was seasick. They adjusted the plan and brought us into calmer waters, and even offered a refund for the shorter time that we were on board from what we’d booked. Impossible to fault - they were brilliant!
If we could give 6 stars, we would! The AVA is beautiful, the location more than great ( = perfect!) and the skipper on site, Mark, is the most friendly and cool guy you can imagine. We will go sailing with him again :-) Before we went to Barcelona, the communication with the owner, Alexander, was fine and very helpful. It all worked 100%. Concluded in a few words: Do your self a favour and book it... By the way: Our wifes were not so sure about the idea staying on a boat, but after the trip they already asked when we go again ;) Kind regards, Morten Frank Mogensen, Denmark
Our day on Adria's boat was just the experience we were looking for. From the communication beforehand (going over different itineraries, making sure we knew where to go), to the exceptional service on board and knowledgeable staff that was with us - everything was perfect. A highlight of our trip that everyone keeps talking about day after day! I would not hesitate to book again with them.
The boat team is absolutely amazing! We were at big group of ten and they made every minute of it remarkable, easy and full of fun! We enjoyed being on the water and the food was amazing along side the several glasses of sangria! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who’s looking to have a great time on a boat and see the beautiful view of the coast of Barcelona!
Everything was perfect! Adrià and his team were really nice. We had an amazing time.
Fantastic experience, highly recommended!
