About Palma

Palma is the largest city in Mallorca and is also the capital of the Balearic Islands in Spain. Most of the population of Mallorca lives in Palma, making it a lively island city full of great restaurants, points of interest, and things to do. While it's a major vacation destination full of modern hotels, the old charm of the island prevails with narrow, winding streets, the restored cathedral and historical architecture. One of the focal points of the city is the Paseo Maritimo, the extensive harbor that stretches along the Bay of Palma. It’s perfect for a stroll and is full of fantastic restaurants to stop and enjoy a drink and some tapas.

The primary tourist season is from April to October when the weather is the warmest. During the winter months, the weather is much cooler and the crowds disappear from the island. The best time to visit Palma is in the shoulder months of April & May or September & October. During this time, temperatures are still high during the day, there’s plenty of sunshine and prices are lower than they are during the peak summertime. July and August are the busiest and most expensive months to visit Palma.

The airport in Palma services many European cities through various carriers, including many budget airlines. The airport is 5 miles from the city center of Palma. It's recommended to rent a car during your stay if you're looking to explore cities beyond Palma, but it is also possible to use public transport.

Rent boat B540 'Gaia' (5p) without licence in Palma, Spain

My spouse and I rented a small boat without captain. It was unforgettable experience. Not only you are on the boat in Mediterranean Sea, you are actually navigating yourself, which is so easy to do. Though, don’t expect to go far, as the motor is not so powerful. Still you will be delighted when anchor at one of the calla’s, and enjoy swimming in the bright blue clear water. Don’t forget snorkeling equipment. Definitely recommend.

Great trip and communication with baptiste. Great boat... would recommend going north east from port. This is the best route. Only 15hp engines so slightly underpowered BUT this is the law in Majorca without a license. Answer is get a license which I am.
