The towns of Kona are lined with many harbors and docks where the reefs are filled with an amazing variety of colorful fish, unique coral reefs, and large sea turtles. The island is also home to one of the most picturesque views of the amazing volcanoes that Hawaii is known for. You may be able to spot Mauna Loa or Kilauea from the water. Humpback whales can occasionally be seen passing the waters off of Honolulu and many boaters have been visited by joyful dolphins during the day.
Although most of Hawaii has the perfect places to go deep-sea fishing, one of the more popular spots to go fishing is in Maui. Many of the fishing charters in Hawaii are equipped with the right technology so your fishing excursion runs smoothly. Expect to catch fish like Mahi Mahi, Ono, Ahi, and even Marlin have been caught in the waters of Hawaii. We had a small group of six, including in-laws on both sides. It was a great way to end our somewhat stressful holiday. Steve took really good care of the parents with some healthy snacks, a little history, and great conversation. On the upper deck, Tony, our captain, gave us some insight on island life. Good times all around. I highly recommend a private voyage aboard this wonderful boat!
Awesome experience! Cap Rob and Kenny were very friendly and super flexible. We met the dolphins during our sailing time which was quite special. Our entire cruise was wonderfully tied together with the beautiful sunset at end.
We hired Matt's boat for a 3 hr sunset cruise with snorkeling around the Waikiki area. When I first saw Matt's boat on the getmyboat wesite, there was no review on this boat and I was rather apprehensive about it as there were many good reviews on other boats. My doubt quickly dissipated after talking to Matt ,he was professional and always quick to answer my questions ,he even made suggestions to fit our needs. On the day ,I was delighted to see Matt's boat as good looking as it is on the website. We are a party of 24 and I think it's just the right number for this boat.It has Bluetooth speakers ,so you can play your own music. It is also equipped with some cool LED lights which gives the boat special ambience especially after sunset. It doesn't has a lower deck area with tables and chairs like some other boats. So everything happens on the upper deck. They provide water and snorkeling gear.We did encounter some problem during our snorkeling.Even though all of us are competent swimmers, most of us have not used the snorkeling gear before. But I think the crew member who helped us with the snorkeling was a bit too eager to get us to the water where we could see turtles and fish. She didn't give us enough time to get used to breathing with the gear and as a result ,many of us were out of breath trying to keep up with her. A couple did decide to get back up to the boat as they were left too far behind .For those who could ,we did see turtles and fish. But don't expect the water as clear as you see on some websites and the turtles were rather small .But it was fun to see and swim around them.Getting back to the Harbour with the sun setting was a wonderful experience, especially with some nice music playing and his LED lights. Matt suggested that we should have dinner in the Pau Hana Place which is just next to the drop off point. It was a perfect end to a wonderful boat trip with good food around their fire pits.Overall we all had a wonderful and memorable time despite some hiccups. What makes it so special is Matt who really went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and to make sure everyone was happy.I cannot recommend him enough!
My family and I went out for a sunset sail and it was amazing! Tony was a great Captain who shared awesome stories about the history of the island and his experience as a sailor and big wave surfer. We 100% recommend booking this trip! 5 star experience :)
We chartered Captain Rob and his boat to help scatter my mom's ashes off of Diamond Head. Although not a pleasure trip, it was nonetheless fun and enjoyable. It was a beautiful way to see Waikiki from another perspective that I had never seen even thought I grew up in Hawaii. The crew was gracious and sensitive, the boat was amazing, and my kids enjoyed having the opportunity to steer a real sailboat. The crew also did a great job with our family members who were a bit nervous about sailing. We gave mom a proper send off and saw a dolphin, sea turtles, and flying fish. We would absolutely book with Captain Rob again and hope to do so.
We are experienced sailors and water lovers. This was the trip of a lifetime! Turtles, dolphins, flying fish, and an amazing team made our day unforgettable. Even if you have zero boat experience, this team will put you at ease. They are truly lovely, fun, competent people. We will do it again in a heartbeat! Mahalo!! 🙏❤️
