Boat Rentals in Capri

The romantic setting of Italy and the remoteness of Capri make it the perfect opportunity to rent a boat for a day of cruising. There are many small charter boats, sailing yachts, and motor yachts; the Gulf of Naples is a mesmerizing and idyllic coastline to explore. You'll feel like a celebrity on board a yacht with the beautiful backdrop of Capri.

A common choice for boat rental in Capri is a dinghy - a small boat that will take you to the hot spots around the island. It's the perfect boat choice for less experienced boaters, as it's easy to navigate and it will get you everywhere you need to go.

A fantastic choice for sporty travelers looking to spend time on a boat is to select a charter package that includes gear for snorkeling. The clear, blue waters surrounding Capri make it the perfect place to drop anchor and spend time swimming around. Be sure to check out some beautiful fish species that inhabit the island's waters.

For travelers looking to continue from Capri to the Amalfi Coast or Positano, chartering a speedboat or yacht is a great choice for cruising. You can arrange for a drop-off at your desired destination. Depending on preference, various options exist, from group boat tours to private yacht rentals.

Boating Events in Capri

The biggest annual boating event in Capri is the Rolex Capri Sailing Week. Taking place mid-May, the island springs to life as its waters fill with massive sailing yachts and a variety of organized races. It's an international regatta put together by Italian sailing clubs. Other Things To Do in Capri

Once on land, you must go for a walk to explore the island of Capri on foot. There are footpaths for hiking in Capri that will give you incredible views of the Mediterranean and the rocky cliffs. The most popular hiking area is the "Via Krupp," which connects the Charterhouse of San Giacomo to the Gardens of Augustus via an impressive switchback walking the path. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring sunscreen.

The "Giardini di Augusto" gardens are a short walk from Capri town. Stop here to see lush flowers and greenery, escape some of the beach crowds, and admire the view of Via Krupp.

If you want to stop to relax on the beach for the day, Marina Piccola is a pleasant spot to park for a while. Only open in the summer season, this spot attracts tourists due to its waterfront restaurants and free beach access.

Marinas in Capri

Despite being a small island, Capri hosts various boat and water sport rental companies. Capri Relax Boats is a top choice for a day of charter cruising around the island. For guided tours, a variety of day trips will take you to the Blue Grotto, Amalfi Coast, Positano, and other hidden spots. You can opt for a group tour for a lower rate or hire a private charter for a romantic day and evening spent cruising around the island.

About Capri

Capri is a tiny island just off the coast of Italy from the Gulf of Naples. Capri is a fantastic destination known for the rugged Faraglioni cliffs that jut out of the sea and the enchanting Blue Grotto cave. You can spend a few nights on the island to experience its magic or visit on a day trip from Naples. The pieces of ancient history and rustic Italian charm have made Capri an alluring trip. Everyone, from budget travelers to celebrities, can find a way to experience the island.

The best time of year to visit Capri is between April and mid-June and September and October. These are the shoulder seasons that see favorable weather and minimal rain. Prices are also much more reasonable during this time. During peak summer, tourists take over Mediterranean destinations. June, July, and August are scorching and packed with people. Prices soar during these months. The winter is not a recommended time to visit Capri. While it will be quiet with minimal tourist crowds, the weather can be unpredictable and make planning excursions difficult.

It's only accessible by boat, so travelers must first fly to mainland Italy. From the Rome airport, travelers can take a high-speed train to Naples from the Rome train station. From the Naples train station, catch a taxi or bus to the port for a ferry to Capri. Flights from European cities go directly to Naples airport, but because it is much smaller than Rome, these flights can get pricey. The ferry from Calata Porta di Massa in Naples direct to Capri takes about one hour.

Wooden Gozzo 28 in Capri Island

We rented a 40' boat with skipper Giocomo. He toured us around Capri, then to Sorrento and Positano and departed in Naples. He was very accomodating and an excellent skipper.....the boat was clean and had great space. The communication was a little mixed up a few days before departure, but when I expressed my concern, they responded immediately. It was a great experience. Loved Capri!!!!

Capri Private Boat Tour from Capri

Ciro is the best! We had such a lovely tour of Capri with him. He was punctual, professional, it was easy to book our reservation and he even came to find us in the Marina. We appreciated his sharing interesting details about the island on our tour and were touched by the proseco and snacks that were offered. Just the best time!! Grazie Mille Ciro!!

Marco and Sal were very patient, helpful and accommodating on our journey. We made our own transportation arrangements to the port and they were there waiting for us. They made several suggestions on the itinerary for the 8 hour journey and made sure they explained the sites as we travelled. This boat is in great condition, nice and clean and plenty of space to move around. If you are drinking alcohol, take your own food or stop at one of the many restaurants on the coast. The appetizers are really snacks. Overall it was a great experience.

One of our best days in Italy! Francisco picked us up from Capri and took us out for the day exploring the Amalfi coast before dropping us to Sorento at the end of the day. Best ever!
