About Badalona

Badalona is a Spanish town north of Barcelona on the Mediterranean. It’s a larger town in the Catalonia region and is known for ancient Roman ruins and architecture, it’s history as a fishing port, and for being a nearby, cheaper alternative to Barcelona. It’s the perfect place to stay if you want to be in a quieter town for sleeping and want to explore Barcelona during the day. Badalona is much more affordable and still has beautiful beaches and Spanish charm.

The best time of year to visit Badalona is during the summer shoulder months of April and May or September and October. While it is cheaper than Barcelona, and much less crowded, it will still be much busier during the peak months of June through August. It doesn’t get bitter cold in the winter, but it’s likely it will be too chilly to enjoy time on a boat. The winter months are good if you want to travel on a budget and don’t mind wearing a few layers.

To get to Badalona, you can take a flight to Barcelona and drive 35 minutes. There is also a RENFE train station and bus stations. You can take public transport in between Badalona and Barcelona if you’re looking to spend some time in the city while staying in Badalona.
