My mother was sailing single-handed on a Sunfish the day that she delivered me. It was almost an early "water delivery" (har har). That was a joke from when I was a Duck Boat Captain. But seriously, I grew up sailing and have sailed out to the Bahamas and Keys many times from Florida, lived on a Sailboat in San Diego, Sailed Block Island, Shelter Island, Puget Sound and a lot around Seattle. I also had a twin-screw Tri-Cabin 36 ft. Tollycraft that I restored and used for several years. Currently I have a 39 ft. Sloop in Shilshole Bay Marina. For the last 2 years I have been the Charter Captain of a 65ft Schooner, taking it through the Seattle Locks and the drawbridges and sailing on crowded Lake Union for about 100 trips. (USCG OUPV50 Ton soon to upgrade to 100 Ton w sailing endorsement)Other skills include mechanical competence (I have done almost all my own boat and car work). This includes removing and rebuilding an Atomic 4 motor from a 27ft. Sailboat I owned. I have restored several boats, fixed heads, installed tanks, done light wiring, bottom paint, some glass repair, etc.I'm also completely fluent in Spanish and have an MBA . My profile lists German also, but that is very rustylimited, though again in progress.
