Learn from a USCG-licensed, experienced master captain how to operate a powerboat (either yours or I can provide my 16ft jet boat which is perfect for lessons)! Learn how to drive, prepare, prioritize your friends/guests and all the tricks that a master captain uses while underway! Would you like to learn how to navigate your area? I can travel for a fee. I train on a jet boat because smaller vessels are often harder but more forgiving - you'll learn how to understand waves, read markers, when to use speed and when to slow down, and even how to boat at night! Night boating includes hopping to one or more restaurants or dockside bars. Training is hands-on and a 2-hour minimum, including 1 hour checking/prepping your vessel if you bring your own. I have trained many captains and my lessons have helped prepare them for power-boating in the Tampa Bay and St Pete areas. Request a quote today to learn more! Lessons include a cooler with non-alcoholic beverages. If you have any questions, we can answer those through GetMyBoat’s messaging platform before you pay. Just hit, “Send Booking Inquiry” and send us an inquiry for a custom offer.

I'm a 38-year old Florida native with a deep love for the ocean, the Gulf and I think the clearest water on the planet. I have a red husky named Takoda. I was previously a VP of Technology for a large travel site until COVID when I decided to follow my passion for the water.
You’ll get directions to the departure location when you make a booking.

At the discretion of the operator or boat owner, renters with a disability that is deemed unsafe for boating may be asked not to participate in the rental. Please discuss any before the cancellation window. Any guest who is not able to embark/disembark from the dock to the boat on their own abilities will not be permitted to board as a safety benchmark.
