About Rio de Janeiro Boat Tours & Yacht Charters

Rio de Janeiro is the 2nd largest city in Brazil and is famous for its stunning landscape, gorgeous beaches, and alluring culture. The annual Carnaval celebrations in Rio are famous worldwide and bring in thousands of visitors for non-stop partying and festivities. The harbor is an impressive focal point of the city, due to the geographic features that surround it. These mountains include Sugar Loaf, Corcovado Peak, and the hills of Tijuca, which tower around the seaside.

There are various districts of Rio de Janeiro that are unique in atmosphere and provide a different look at this diverse city. To be near the beach and boating opportunities, check out Zona Sul, the southern zone that contains most of the tourist sights. Here you’ll be near Flamengo Beach, Copacabana, and Ipanema. This district gives you access to the Corcovado Mountains, Sugar Loaf, and the Lagoon at Rodrigo de Freitas.

The best time of year to visit Rio de Janeiro is between December and March. The weather during this time is warm and sunny, so you can hit the beach while on your vacation. There is minimal rainfall during these months. If you plan on visiting during Carnaval in February, book your accommodation well in advance. Prices surge during this time and many hotels and accommodation options will be sold out if you wait too long. The winter months of June through August in Rio are mild, it never gets very cold but it could be too cool to enjoy the beaches. The winter is also the rainy season.

The Rio airport is busy and offers many international daily flights. To get from the airport to your accommodation, there are buses to the city center as well as taxis and other transfer options.

Sergio was a wonderful host and his boat was perfect for a sunset cruise around Guanabara Bay. He was really communicative from the beginning to the end, and gave us all the time we needed to soak in the view and the experience. I would 100% recommend taking a boat trip on Sergio’s boat!

For such a short notice to book, you worked with me and my large group providing the best experience possible. Captain and crew were very nice, helpful and friendly, laughed with us and overall just good people. I booked this boat for my best friend's birthday, Saw nothing but smiles on her face, that was the most important thing. Honestly thankful and grateful for the experience. Out of the week we all stayed in Rio, this day was the most memorable. Shout out to the Captain and his shipmate, we owe it to you! We'll definitely be back.

I had an amazing day out on the water thanks to Ricardo. He was very responsive and provided any information needed to captain his boat including some great beaches to visit. He also provided access to the club for an evening dinner after a day out on the water. I would highly recommend renting from Ricardo.
