Enjoy our beautiful Pacific Ocean by boat! Charter the 42-foot Beneteau Sloop for up to 6 passengers. Rate as low as $230 per hour for one couple (minimum of 2 hours). She can sail up to six passengers. Priced accordingly. Please, if you have 7+ people, do not go any further.  This is not a weight issue, a crowd issue, or my rule. This is a US Coast Guard rule. It is illegal for me to take more than 6 passengers.  Thank you for your understanding. Rate: • 2 hours: $460 = couple's discount. This includes tax and fees which other merchants may hide/ add on after your booking. For a 3 +-hour booking, the hourly rate is reduced. Ask for a quote for 3+ passengers.  Includes:  • Captain Gratuities are not included in the price. After your sail, they are a lovely way to say "mahalo" if you feel your experience is deserving. Pack a small cooler/ insulated bag with cooled beverage (other than water, which I have on board) and food refreshments you may require for your time on the water. If you do not have access to a cooler, you are welcome to use the one on board. Adult beverages are welcome but, please, no red wine. What You Can Expect: As we sail we may see green sea turtles lazing in the sun, dolphins jumping the bow, whales (winter only) spouting off to starboard, the stunning shine of Venus at sunset.  Can we swim? Our exposed coastline is subject to currents, has an unspectacular reef and no secluded coves/ lagoons in our sailing area; for your enjoyment, snorkeling and swimming are not offered. Your private charter is a sailing experience, allowing a supreme tradewind sail that only Hawaii can offer. Can we go to the sandbar? It seems that everyone these days has heard of the illusive "sandbar".  The sandbar is located in Kaneohe Bay which is on the other side of the island from Kaikiwi's home. It takes a whole day to sail there!!! so, NO, we cannot include a visit to the sandbar. What To Expect Onboard: Our sailboat is a 42-foot Beneteau 411 and a wonderful sailing machine for Hawaiian waters. She is well proven: our Captain sailed her home from Mexico with two crew and was delighted with the way she handled in all conditions. Boat Specialties: • Fabulous tradewind day-sailing as only Hawaii can offer. It truly is as good as it gets                                                                          • Sunset sails (on Fridays, this can include a beautiful fireworks display) • Whale watching (in season)  • Weddings: saying "I do" as you sail into the sunset is hard to top! Vow renewals too • Corporate "fun"ctions; impress your most important corporate clients or reward your top employees with a deluxe and exclusive sail • Birthday celebrations, sailing lessons, memorials, life celebrations ANY OCCASION is a good one to get out on the water.  What To Bring: • Food • Drinks (but please no red wine) If you have any questions, we can answer those through GetMyBoat’s messaging platform before you pay. Just hit, “Request to Book” and send us an inquiry for a custom offer.

What a wonderful day! My husband requested a long sail for Father’s Day and we were fortunate to book with Capt Gaelyn on Kaikiwi. We had perfect weather and got some unexpected sailing instruction with time behind the wheel! We had great conversation and loved listening to her sailing stories while my teenage kids were sitting on the deck getting splashed by the waves. My husband said it was his best Father’s Day ever!

Captain Gaelyn was awesome! She’s so nice and timely and since it was my first experience on a boat she was very knowledgeable and hospitable on how to stay stable and avoid seasickness! It was a gorgeous ride and it was a beautiful experience overall. Gaelyn is also very friendly and nice too! I definitely would book her again!

Gaelyn was amazing to be with on the water. She is fun, engaging, and can give great context and recommendations regarding Hawaii and surrounding waters. I will be recommending her and her boat to all those who visit Hawaii, and look forward to booking with her again!

This was the most special, perfect, and memorable experience of our entire trip. We had so much fun on the trip, carefully and thoughtfully navigated by Captain Gaeyln. She was very professional and knowledgeable, and shared a lot of stories with us during the sail. From the check-in instructions to the end of our trip, every instruction was clear and easy to follow. We can’t express how wonderful it was! If you’re looking for a way to make a special memory on a private charter, please don’t hesitate and reach out to Captain Gaelyn. She made our day in every possible way :) Can’t wait to be back and sail with her.

Additional Terms & Information

!!! THE RATE OF $470 for two hours is rate for 2-pax. 4-6 passengers, please ask for rate.!!! The rate of $235 an hour is decreased for a 3- or more hour sail. PLEASE NOTE YOUR REQUEST WILL BE HELD FOR 48 HOURS BEFORE THE OFFER EXPIRES To board and sail on Kaikiwi, all clients must be agile and mobile. • Because our exposed coastline is subject to currents, has no secluded coves/ lagoons and has unspectacular reef in our sailing area, snorkeling is not offered. While your private charter is primarily a sailing experience, if you would like a swim (you must be a strong swimmer), let me know and I can drop sail while you all jump in the water. I don’t anchor: we drift with the current and a floating tether is attached to the boat.  This is a bunch more fun than being anchored, esp with mask and snorkel on. For safety reasons swimming is not an option during a sunset cruise. • If you have more than 6 in your group, please submit multiple requests and split the group. Mahalo. This is not a regulation imposed by the owner but one imposed by the US Coast Guard. • Includes Captain:  Vessel does not sail without her Captain so, please, no bareboat requests. Frequently Asked Questions: What kind of weather can we expect? Our local weather man boasts “the best weather on the planet”. That may be well true! Facts: winter is our rainy season and is obviously cooler but a comfortable temperature especially if you are escaping from mainland snow and ice. Summer: we are one of the coolest states in the union because of our consistent trade wind flow. Highs in summer can be 88 F. Hawaii year-round is windy, sometimes very windy with trade winds from the north east. Are there life jackets and other safety equipment on board? Your safety and comfort are our number one concern: whether you are sailing on Kaikiwi or on the catamaran, both meet all U.S. Coast Guard inspection requirements. Safety first, fun second. Where are we going? We sail from Oahu’s south (protected) shore, not far from Waikiki, past beautiful coastline in the cobalt blue blue waters of our Pacific. Wildlife such as green sea turtles/ honu, dolphins/ nai’a, humpback whales/ kohola (in winter season only), and flying fish/ malolo are some of the critters we may see as we sail. This is not destination sailing…Destination is sailing …it’s more about the experience of being out on the water than getting somewhere. Can we sail to the north shore? Distances while sailing are significant. Consider sailing 100 miles at 7 mph. Yes, that makes the north shore or any outer-island a distance unable to be covered during a day-sail. Fact: circumnavigating Oahu takes minimum 24 hours non-stop. This translates into a 4-day 3-night multi-day charter. Molokai and beyond are a minimum 5-day charter. Maui is a minimum 7-day charter. Is the sailing calm or choppy ( I am worried about sea sickness)? If conditions outside Diamond Head are too brisk and bumpy we have a fabulous sailing triangle inside that wind line with wonderful views of Oahu and awesome trade wind sailing. Regarding seasickness: Bonine is available at any drugstore and it is always best to be preventative! What times do you sail? Our vessels are available 24/7/365 and, because this is custom, private sailing, we can sail any time you want and whatever length of time you wish. Are tips included in the price? Price includes tax but not gratuities. While there is never an obligation to tip, they are a lovely (and appreciated!) way to say that you are very happy with the services given. Is there a meal served on board? it is very difficult eating and serving a sit-down meal on a sailing adventure so for that reason, and the fact that these are days of complex diets and allergies, you are asked to please bring your own choice of snacks and beverage for your day/evening on the water. Adult beverages are welcome but, please, no red wine. What else is provided? sunshine, shade, happiness and a beautiful ocean, sometimes with a passing turtle, dolphin or humpback whales (in season). Can we stop to swim/ snorkel? People sail to enjoy the sheer thrill of tradewind sailing and, knowing they can take a swim from the beach any time they want, don’t generally want to waste precious time of their private sail with swimming. Enjoy tradewind sailing that only Hawaii can offer. Do you have a bathroom on board? whether you are sailing the catamaran, bathrooms are available. These are marine toilets and it is very important to follow your captain’r explanation on how to use them. Do we find our own way to the harbor or is there hotel pick-up? The captain will be busy getting your boat ready for you so you will find your own way to Kewalo Basin either by cab or your rental car. Specific directions to the harbor are sent to you upon confirmation of your booking. It is a very short ride to the marina.
