Sean and Tyron made their way up to Rainbow Beach in early 2011 after seeing the local business. Both were keen for a new challenge after having spent most of their lives in Victoria where they grew up. The boy home town was a little place on the Great Ocean Road called Apollo Bay. They have been friends since growing up through school. Ty grew up with beach activities. As a child, Tyrsquos Dad operated sailboard hire and lessons, catamaran hire, jet ski hire, parasailing and most recently had a paragliding and hangliding school. Father and son would spend the summers in Victoria and when winter hit would travel to Darwin to continue their businesses. pIt was a fantastic childhood, not ever having a winter. During their travels Rainbow Beach was always a destination they stopped and enjoyed. Tyrsquos memories of this place was his father flying off the Carlo Sand Blow while he ran around with his brothers on the dunes.p pSo having the beach life in his blood, Ty knew at some point he would come back to Rainbow Beach to create the same beach lifestyle he was accustomed to. Ty has been into kitesurfing for over 12 years and this is what he is now most passionate about. As a new activity for the area, Ty is very keen to promote the sport and get as many new participants involved as he can. Sean is also passionate about the outdoors, especially surfing. He too, has been riding waves since his early teenage years. Moving from the colder waters and bigger waves from down south he has relocated his growing family (wife Sam, 2 kids and another due this year) north to make the most of the ocean and surrounding environment, twelve months of the year. With a background in sports coaching, this has enabled Sean to enjoy teaching people the basics and incorporating a great tour lesson each and every time. Sean has been surfing for 20 years.
