Diving on the Great Mesoamerican Reef

A few meters offshore the beaches of Tulum lies the Great Mesoamerican Reef. This reef runs uninterrupted and parallel to the coast from the northern part of Cancun to the Mexican Border with Belize and forms one of the most attractive sub aquatic environments and one of the most important coral reefs in the world. It is home to diverse species like the spiney lobster, rose coral, turtles, Morey eels, dolphins, nurse sharks, many tropical fish as well as more than 60 species of coral. The water temperature is generally a very comfortable 27 degrees Celsius (80 Fahrenheit) and it may have exceptional visibility with clarity to 15 meters (50 feet). The general wave and current conditions are perfect for recreational diving practically all year long. Weather conditions permitting, we offer departures for one or two immersions twice daily: At 9 a.m. for divers certified in the depth range of 10 to 30 meters (30 to 100 feet) for 20 to 50 minutes each immersion. And at 1 p.m. for divers with minimal experience and/or for students in the process of certification, we offer a dive in the range of 10 meters (30 feet) depth for 40 minutes each immersion. One immersion is $100. U.S. OR Two immersions in the same trip but different sites is $150. U.S. The price includes all equipment, boat and guide.
