I was born in Macomb, Illinois. I grew up fishing in the freshwater lakes and streams of the small-town midwest for crappie, bluegill, bass, and catfish. I have always been interested in the outdoors, I graduated cum laude in 1998 with a bachelor’s in forestry from Western Illinois University.I moved to beautiful Clearwater Beach, Florida in 1999 and began working on a charter headboat as a deckhand and then earning my captains license. After 9 years of working on and running a headboat in the Gulf of Mexico, I made a switch to a more personalized fishing experience on a private charter vessel which I helmed until 2016 as a 100 ton master captain.
