Built in 1903 in Drachten Young Hiltsje began her life as a barge. It was her job to serve as a sailing transport and maintain a regular connection between two or more locations. After this the ship was sold several times to get out in the 60s of the last century when the family Kamphuis, who used the ship as a recreational vessel and its omdoopten to the North Star. Between the 60s and in 2013 the ship was still changed several times of owner. in 2013 the ship was explained by a heavy fire within the insurance total loss. It seemed that it was over life of the ship and that it would be disposed of as scrap metal, but fortunately Annage got this beautiful ship in hands. The ship, which is now back Young Hiltsje called, is here restored home and the ship was usable again in July 2014 to sail with guests.
