After booking, you’ll choose one of two fuel options before check-in: 1. Owner-handled refueling, recommended: I refuel the boat after your trip so you can skip the fuel dock, save time, and reduce docking risk. The marina pump receipt is provided after the trip and fuel is settled electronically. 2. DIY fueling, experienced boaters only: You refuel with ethanol-free premium and send a clear photo of the dock receipt immediately after the trip. Nearest DIY fuel dock is Yarrow Bay Marina, open 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily. Lines can form on sunny days, and docking/fueling can add time and risk. Most guests choose owner-handled refueling to save roughly 30 to 40 minutes. Hour-meter photos are taken at the start and finish for maintenance records only, not for fuel billing. Docking is one of the highest-risk parts of the rental - Do not dock anywhere without owner approval - Do not raft or tie up to other boats without owner approval - Do not approach the return dock until owner or assistant is ready, unless instructed otherwise - Text when you are about 20 minutes from return - Approach slowly and calmly - Use neutral and short forward bumps - Avoid sudden throttle movements - Have a spotter ready - Fenders must be out before approaching or leaving docks - Lines must be ready before approaching the dock - The Beach House dock can be tall, windy, and choppy - Owner will brief renter on fender placement, lines, and the return approach before departure Fender Policy - Fenders must be OUT when approaching, leaving, or tied to docks - Fenders must be STOWED while underway - Do not drive with fenders hanging over the side - Lost or missing fender fee: $20 each Safety and Local Water Rules - Renter agrees to follow all posted speed limits and no-wake zones - Renter agrees to slow down near docks, marinas, kayaks, paddleboards, swimmers, sailboats, rowing shells, and other vessels - Renter agrees to give other boaters extra room - Renter agrees to watch for shallow areas, especially near shorelines, Union Bay, and the 520/Webster Point area - Renter agrees to stay in marked/main channels where applicable - Renter agrees to watch the depth finder when near shore - Renter agrees to avoid large wakes and approach waves at a safe angle - Renter agrees to operate safely based on passenger load, weather, wind, chop, and visibility - Renter agrees to keep all passengers seated while underway unless moving carefully between seats - GPS and speed may be monitored - Repeated unsafe operation, speed violations, restricted-area violations, or rule violations may end the trip without refund Onboard Rules - No smoking - No vaping - No drugs - No red wine - No staining foods or dark liquids that can damage upholstery - Shoes off onboard - No pets unless approved before booking - No standing or sitting on the swim platform while engine is running - No sitting on the engine hatch while underway - No jumping from the boat while engine is running - No tying up to other boats without approval - No docking without approval - Respect other boats, docks, homes, and noise levels Cleaning Policy - Boat must be returned in the same clean condition it was received - Please remove trash and wipe up spills before return - Cleaning fee starts at $100 if the boat is returned excessively dirty, stained, covered in food/drinks, pet hair, sand/mud, or smoke/vape residue Insurance, Damage, Incidentals, and Claims - Boatsetter insurance, security deposit, deductible, claim process, and platform policies apply to this rental - Platform insurance does not remove renter responsibility for damage, deductibles, uncovered losses, missing equipment, incidentals, cleaning, late return, fuel issues, or rule violations - Renter is responsible for damage or loss caused by renter, renter’s guests, unsafe operation, negligence, intoxication, unauthorized use, unauthorized docking, unauthorized operating area, or failure to follow owner instructions - Owner may submit a platform claim, insurance claim, security deposit claim, incidental charge, or repair request through Boatsetter when applicable - Filing an insurance claim does not guarantee coverage or release renter from responsibility - If insurance denies coverage, excludes the incident, applies a deductible, or does not fully cover the loss, renter remains responsible for applicable amounts to the extent allowed by Boatsetter policy and applicable law - If damage affects future bookings, availability, or safe operation, owner may seek recovery for related losses where allowed by Boatsetter policy and applicable law Security Deposit and Deductible Responsibility - Boatsetter may place a security deposit hold for this rental - Owner may request or set a higher security deposit where allowed by Boatsetter - Security deposit may be used for damage, lost items, fuel issues, cleaning, late fees, claim deductibles, and other approved charges - Renter may be responsible for insurance deductibles, uncovered damage, and any costs not paid by insurance or the platform - If a claim is filed, renter understands that their deposit may be held until the claim is resolved - If repair costs exceed the security deposit, deductible amount, platform coverage, or any available insurance payment, renter remains responsible for the remaining balance to the extent allowed by Boatsetter policy and applicable law Damage Documentation - The boat may be photographed and/or videoed before departure and upon return - Documentation may include hull, gelcoat, interior, upholstery, carpet/flooring, swim platform, prop, outdrive, engine area, gear, anchor, lines, fenders, and hour meter - Renter agrees that pre-trip and post-trip photos/videos, owner notes, GPS/speed records, receipts, repair estimates, invoices, and platform messages may be used to support any damage, claim, or incidental charge - Renter must immediately report any accident, impact, grounding, prop strike, docking contact, injury, equipment loss, fuel issue, or suspected damage during the rental Renter Liability - Renter is financially responsible for damage to the vessel, equipment, contents, other boats, docks, structures, and third-party property caused during the rental period by renter or renter’s guests - Renter is responsible for injuries, unsafe operation, illegal activity, or rule violations caused by renter or renter’s guests to the extent allowed by law and platform policy - Renter is responsible for damage caused by operating in shallow water, striking objects, grounding, improper docking, unauthorized docking, towing/tubing misuse, overloading, intoxication, or ignoring safety instructions - Renter is responsible for loss of equipment, including but not limited to fenders, lines, anchor, tube, paddleboard, cooler, safety gear, and accessories Examples of Chargeable Damage or Incidentals - Gelcoat or fiberglass damage - Docking damage - Prop or outdrive damage - Grounding or shallow-water damage - Upholstery cuts, burns, stains, or tears - Carpet/flooring stains or damage - Lost or missing fenders: $20 each - Lost or missing lines, anchor, safety gear, tube, paddleboard, cooler, or accessories - Damage caused by unauthorized docking or rafting - Damage caused by tubing or watersports - Damage caused by operating outside approved areas - Damage caused by intoxication, negligence, reckless operation, or unsafe behavior - Excessive cleaning - Late return - Fuel policy violations - All post-trip charges are handled electronically through the platform when applicable Late Return Policy - Return time is the scheduled tie-up time at the dock, not the time the renter starts heading back - Late fee: $25 per 15 minutes late - Late returns may also affect the next rental - If a late return causes another booking to be delayed, canceled, or discounted, additional charges may apply through the platform where allowed Weather and Safety Policy - Seattle weather can change quickly - Clouds, light rain, or cooler weather are not automatic reasons for refund or reschedule - Owner may delay, adjust, or cancel for unsafe conditions such as high winds, lightning, unsafe chop, mechanical concern, smoke/visibility issues, or other safety risks - Cancellations and rescheduling follow Boatsetter’s platform policy unless otherwise agreed in writing through the platform Pre-Departure Agreement - Before departure, renter must complete ID check, final headcount and weight confirmation, safety gear overview, life jacket location review, local water briefing, no-wake/speed-zone briefing, blower/startup briefing, docking/return briefing, fender briefing, fuel choice confirmation, add-on confirmation, start photos, and hour-meter photo - By taking possession of the vessel, renter confirms they understand and agree to these terms, safety rules, fuel policy, operating limits, renter responsibility, insurance/damage terms, and return requirements
