Sail for $150 per hour in Pompano Beach, Florida. Best trips are up to Lake Boca for 1.5 hours then swimming for an hour and a return.  Hillsborough Inlet is around the corner from our boarding location allowing us to get right off shore if we choose to do more sailing then partying.  Please inquire about per person rates ($30/Hour/Person) for smaller parties and options for more than 6 guests. Relax and Enjoy The waterways of Fort Lauderdale aboard a modern spacious Hunter Marine Passage 450. The captain grew up on the Hudson River & Long Island Sound and has spent 25 years in the South Florida area and brings years of sailing experience. He is a teaching captain, thinking out loud always making all other captains feel very comfortable. The captain is also an entertainer and avid musician and most New Yorkers have heard him performing around town or on the radio doing jingles. He never quit his day job as an engineer CPA accountant legal document writer, code writer and consultant in the daily news paper industry. Everyone will be thoroughly entertained. A standard four hour cruise includes a 1.5 hour ride out up there to the Intracoastal to Lake Boca. The captain can teach other sailors tips and tricks for big boat sail handling and maneuvering. This includes sailing with fractional sail exposed on the windy days to keep the ride nice and smooth and very stable. Given the full Bimini and raised solar panels covering the entire aft deck everyone can relax in the shade. Ice-filled coolers are available, and there is always a stock of 16.9 ounce bottles of water, Crystal Light ice tea mix, and whatever alcohol you want to bring onto the boat. Cruises can also be easily specially catered upon request. The boat is a center cockpit sloop-rigged sailboat with in-mast furling main and furling jib. Aft steps give easy access to the water. Aft hot and cold shower at steps. The aft deck can easily accommodate six people seated and specific chairs and two others sitting on towels on the back deck under the shade of the solar panels. The large center cockpit can easily accommodate 8 people. There is plenty of space for everyone to spread out on deck during a 4 or 8 hour sail. Full galley with microwave. The boat is fast and it does it’s theoretical hull speed of 8.4 knots with half tanks and flat seas with only 18 knots of wind. Several cushioned chase lounge seating. The boat can be repositioned anywhere between Key Biscayne & West Palm Beach. If you have any questions, we can answer those through GetMyBoat’s messaging platform before you pay. You could clearly see the lightning flashes just offshore.   This is from NOAA:  (1/9/23)  NE winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts to around 25 kt along the coast to NW 20 to 25 kt with gusts to around 30 kt in the Gulf Stream. Seas 3 to 5 ft along the coast and 5 to 7 ft, occasionally to 8 ft in the Gulf Stream. ————————— I arrived at the Alsdorf Park Pier and Boat Launch at 8 AM for our 11 AM to 3 PM charter.  On the way south, I could hear the chatter on the radio from the fishing boat captains not to go too far offshore due to the storms that just churned up the water.    Louis and his family were right on time.   The clouds had long dissipated, and it was sunny and warm in the sun.    The minute we departed the dry cold front went through, and the winds came hard from the north, as we pointed right into those winds.  I personally sailed all the way down from West Palm Beach to Lake Boca the day before on the intracoastal but now the winds were not out of the west, but out of the north. Given the forecasted sea state (and reports on the radio that it was worse than forecast) let alone what was happening on the radio at the Hillsboro inlet for Louis to hear, I thought he and I both decided (not just me) to stay on the intracoastal.  Hearing the fishing fleet, not wanting to go behind the outer marker just sealed and confirmed our decision.  I advised him that given the young children and elderly parents that it would be not very much fun out there today..    I did NOT speak to them about the fact that we could’ve gotten out the inlet, but given the moon low tides we’re having this part of the month I would’ve never gotten back in the inlet.  I touched last month when I was supposed to have 12 feet of water under me at mid-tide!!   Two storms have just gone by this inlet, and the shifting shoals have not been dredged or re-marked.  Please be advised I have written to Louis that I am going to be at the Downtowner Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale right near where he’s staying.  I offered him to go out the ship channel and go sailing tomorrow when the seas are just going to be 2 feet with 11 knots of wind.  (by the way the next day it turned out they were blowing 70 kn in the seas did not calm from 3 to 5 until mid afternoon) I did this verbally as he handed me $100 for a tip upon leaving the boat.   The pictures provided in the review were taken from the resort hotels pictures six years prior to this year. I did that via text message after I saw his review which is absolutely the opposite of reality. I also advised him I’d be willing to go out again verbally as he tipped me $100. When I learned he was staying right next-door I was going to be in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The man did give me a $100 tip.   I did my normal trip which is 1.5 hours north from Pompano Beach to Lake Boca. They were suffering from the cold wind on the way north to Boca Lake when the front went through. They would’ve suffered much worse offshore.  I thought everybody was happy and had a great time. I tell everybody why, the boat is named, “THE NAKED TRUTH” I am 30 years in the daily newspaper industry, having visited almost every city in the world, big enough to have a daily newspaper as they are using all our part of the tools we provide to make a daily newspaper run.  I let them know that 17 years ago when I purchased the sailboat, my philosophy was if you read it all in memorize it you should not be near a voting booth because you really don’t know how your vote will affect yourself.    I tell them the name of the tender “The Little Liar” Is named after CNN. I let them know that 37 years ago I inherited of fleet of car carriers when my uncle died very young. I advise EVERYONE I still work with 855 car dealerships and wholesalers around the country moving their cars. I let them know that before they sign on the dotted line to purchase their car to call me first and I can save them between $1250 on a new car to as much as $10,000 on a wholesaled car.   I do not sell new or used cars. I just help these folks move their vehicles on their behalf. Louis is a tax attorney and I don’t know how he received something so very different than what I communicated.  His wife, TJ is a criminal lawyer, who used to be a prosecutor before she ended up working for herself the way Louis does. Their six year old daughter Parker was very inquisitive and jumped at the chance to run the auto pilot, and stand on the captain’s chair, holding the top of the wheel.  And of course, little three-year-old Preston wanted her turn and she got it.  Grandpa Ron was a custodian for years in a school before retiring to Sun City, Florida just outside Tampa (from Illinois) His wife Julie came down with him both staying with friends in Bonita Springs where they stayed the night before visiting Louis, TJ and the girls today.   Louis and TJ and the girls will be staying at the Westin Resort Hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach.  Grandma Julie and Grandpa Ron were last second additional guests.  Even with Julie’s knee replacement she had no issues getting on the boat, because the gunnel and the pier were the same height putting me about an inch off the bottom at the Alsdorf Park Pier. Anyway, I thought everybody had a good time.  There was a little bit of whining with six-year-old Parker, who needed a nap and did get one. As soon as we got to the lake, they were in the water.  I put out three lifejackets on a 45 foot dock line for them to hang onto.  Both girls could swim even without Floaties. They had fun with their dad Louis who did go in the water with them.   They had plenty of their own towels, and were prepared for swim time on Lake Boca as advertised in my listing.    We got to see actor Jack Black’s house, as well as fight promoter, Don King and the Reverend Al Sharpton, as well as the 37 year old housekeeper, who inherited a major estate with associated megayacht seven years ago when a billionaire left his housekeeper the entire estate with money to keep her going for years.  All in all, I learned a lot about who they were and where they’re from just outside Chicago and how they are seriously thinking about leaving the blue state for Houston, Texas. How he’s already fulfilled certain schooling obligations and credentials to be an attorney in Texas.  TJ and Louis met on Tinder. I am communicating this to you, because I want you to know I engage the guests by asking questions about them.   I listen very intently, and I remember.  When grandma Julie pointed out that she left $100 at the helm for me, I shook Louis’s hand and reminded him to save my number for when he buys his future vehicles, as I can most likely save him thousands of dollars. I advised him I will probably be going for another 30 years as my family goes to 102.   Anyway, I offered him another sail today.
