Overview and added comments on destinations :

. The island Ste Marguerite covers 170 hectares and is 700 meters from the tip of Cannes. The natural setting of the island offers an extraordinary panorama. The island is covered by the forest: oaks, pines, and eucalyptus with exceptional scents. Access to the coves is the ideal place for a swim in translucent waters. It is a haven of peace where nature is queen, it is possible for those who will remain discreet and patient, see rabbits, pheasants or squirrels. For this island to remain as beautiful as it is today, it is important for everyone to respect the rules of the island. The superb Fort Royal (1626) overlooking the sea was built to lock access to the city of Cannes; it will be fortified at the end of the XVIIth century, after a visit of Vauban and becomes partly a prison. It will then host several famous prisoners including the very mysterious Iron Mask held for 11 years and Marshal Bazaine, the only prisoner who managed to escape the Fort Royal.

- Île Saint-Honorat is located north of Île Sainte Marguerite and belongs to the Lérins Abbey. It includes a monastery, 7 chapels and an abbey. It is separated from St. Margaret Island by a body of water 500m wide. Saint-Honorat charms with its calm and its beauty. Meditation is at the rendezvous. Indeed, the tranquility of the place provides a moment of well being intense. The Lérins Abbey houses the Cistercian monks. These monks live there through recollection, prayer, fraternal life and work since the sixteenth century. Monks have always cultivated vines on Île Saint-Honorat and produce wine and liqueur Lérina. Today, the monks also offer tastings of great wines and their local specialty. The fortified monastery, of feudal architecture shows the violent and repeated assaults of invasions and raids of pirates during the Middle Ages. The monastery has always resisted all these attacks.

CALANQUES OF ESTEREL Amazing and majestic coves in the red rocks of the Esterel through the Trayas and Agay will allow you to dive into clear water loaded with fish! The coves of Esterel characterized by the contrast between the red color of the granite rock of the volcanic massif and the blue of the Mediterranean Sea. They make up one of the most remarkable landscapes of the Côte d'Azur. The Esterel massif falls steeply into the sea and is divided into multiple wild creeks from Saint Raphael to Mandelieu la Napoule. Many ancient wrecks also lie on the shallows near the coast, a must, dangerous for boats of the time, Mediterranean trade routes.
