Lake Winnebago is a safe lake to swim in, but its a better lake for boating and watercraft recreation. In the summer its a popular spot for boat rentals, boat parades, jet skiing, kayaking, and other water recreation. It is a shallow lake in comparison with other lakes in the area.
You can boat from Lake Winnebago to Lake Michigan through the lock system on the lakes, connecting them in Green Bay. It’s possible to take your boat rental all the way from Lake Winnebago to Lake Michigan through this lock system on the lower Fox River.
The best walleye fishing on Lake Winnebago in the spring and early summer is typically found along the rocky shoreline, in the shallower corners of the lake. In the summer months from July onward, you’ll want to rent or access a fishing boat to get deeper into the lake basin to catch walleye.
We decided last minute to rent a boat and were lucky enough to find Josh's listing. We sent a message in the morning and within minutes Josh responded we were booked for the day. The boat is in great shape and ran very well. There were five of us on the boat (two adults and 3 young kids). It was very comfortable and we had an awesome day. Josh was super helpful, responsive and just an all around nice guy! This was definitely the highlight of our vacation
Josh was wonderful to work with - very communicative and accommodating to our needs! It rained on the day we had planned and Josh worked with us to allow us to take the boat out a different day. The boat itself was very well maintained and was comfortable and clean. The tube was an added touch! We would definitely rent from Josh again!
We had a blast! The boat was clean and Josh was so helpful! When I tell you we had no idea what we were doing I'm not kidding but he was so patient with us. My kids (youngest 5 oldest 13) had the best time tubing and jumping off the boat. The lake was beautiful!
Captain Dan is the best! You will not find a better host or a better boat than the Blue Pearl. Trust me on this. I would not hesitate to rebook for my next celebration. Within a matter of minutes he and first mate Jen were like old friends and a natural part of our group. I was celebrating my 40th birthday with 9 friends and it was a perfect day. Dan was great with communication such as where to park and patient with my many questions concerning what to bring. He even created a birthday banner to decorate the boat with! The boat was gorgeous, in mint condition and very spacious for 12. We pulled up to some live music along the river and definitely turned many heads in how we pulled up in style. Even when Dan got a call from work that he had to take care of, he smoothly arranged for another captain to finish our reservation. Captain Jeff was just as experienced and knew the local waters. He found us a great cove to do some swimming and knew of some live music we could enjoy from the boat. This experience will be remembered by my friends and I for a long time to come!
Connor and his boat were both 10/10. He was very accommodating to our schedule and worked with us to choose the times that worked for us. He was very knowledgeable about Milwaukee and the area in general. Communication was great and he was super laid back. We were able to choose the bars we wanted to stop at throughout the day. Highly recommend booking with Connor!!
This vessel was great, handled much better than I thought a pontoon would have. Especially with the wind and rough water. Josh was also very accommodating and prompt to answer any questions and offered great suggestions for an awesome experience
