Your event on the luxury 65ft WylieCat Sailboat on the San Francisco Bay

Ahoy and welcome aboard - your adventure awaits!  Introducing the Derek M Baylis (DMB)!  The DMB is a custom 65’ Wyliecat sailing yacht and the only one of her kind in the world.  As a high-end luxury yacht, she is suitable to meet the requirements of sophisticated events as well  all others who just want to have fun! She will make a fabulous and unique background for the photos that will seal your special event in memory. As a Coast Guard documented vessel, she is inspected annually to prove that she is still in top shape to comply with the strict US Coast Guard requirements.  Her other mission is to serve as a platform for marine scientists and educators for deep water research tasks (such as placing tags on great white sharks) which takes her out into the ocean to the islands off the California coast.  For these trips we can rapidly turn her into a marine laboratory!  So, she is a boat with an interesting story and your charter fee helps to make all that possible.    In a nutshell, we offer the following: As a large and spacious 65ft vessel, she is documented to carry a lot of people, but under the current COVID restrictions, we keep it to 28 guests max. It is cost effective to BYOB and food, and we NEVER CHARGE A CORKING FEE.  Bring your favorite beer, seltzers, wine, champagne and snacks, and we will do the rest. We will have ice-cold coolers, glasses, cutlery, plates and napkins for your use. If you prefer to kick back and have us do all the work - we can arrange catering for an extra fee Collect your favorite songs on a playlist on your phone and we will pipe them through the onboard speakers - inside and outside You and your group can be as hands-on as is desired.  If the passengers want to sail the vessel, we welcome it We hire friendly and experienced crew, and we believe that crew tips are earned, so bring some cash to compliment the crew if you feel that they did well.  Our knowledgeable crew can answer questions about the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Angel Island, San Francisco, Oakland or any of the other cities around the Bay.  Boarding is extra - in Richmond (East Bay) the harbor charges us $100 to use their guest dock, but we can also pick you up in San Francisco for a $220 fee that we have to pay to the SF Port Authority.
