Come aboard the Shooting Star, a custom 46-foot custom Bertram with a cruising speed that will get you to the strike zone quickly and comfortably! "Shooting Star" is an exceptionally well maintained Fort Lauderdale fishing boat. She is a custom 46 foot Bertram sportfisher, powered by twin 730 H.P. Detroit Diesel Engines which will provide us a safe, comfortable, dry ride to the fishing grounds. Bertram Boats are known for their safety. sea worthiness, and all around fishability. You can find many Bertrams on the water as they are one of the top choices for charter boat captains. The vessel is fully equipped with all of the required US Coast Guard safety equipment. Even though the ride to the fishing grounds is a short one the ride time to and from the fishing areas is quick and provides more time for fishing. The Shooting Star is one of only two sportfishing boats in the world with an exclusive dry exhaust system----which means, NO DIESEL FUMES! Most boats experience nasty diesel fumes in their cockpits as the exhaust rises up over the transom into your face, but our exhausts are over 30 feet in the air! This takes all fumes (and most engine noise) away from the cockpit, making the Fort Lauderdale fishing and cruising experience that much more enjoyable for you and your guests. Some of the key features of the boat are: - Comfortable cabin (salon) for storing your things - Up to date safety and fishing electronics - VHF Radio - Live well - Tunes - radio All the fishing gear on board is well maintained and durable. There is a variety of different sizes of rods and reels for matching the right gear for the type of fishing. The gear is either Shimano or Penn which are leading brands for quality. All Fishing Charters Include: Fishing Licenses - Bait and Tackle - Rods and Reels - Ice and Cooler - Live Bait is extra charge. What To Bring To The Boat We will supply everything you need to catch fish which will include top brand name rod n reels, fishing tackle, dead bait, "Live Bait is extra", fishing licenses, and even ice for the fish. We have provided a list of a few things you may want to bring that may make your Fort Lauderdale fishing trip more comfortable below. In addition to the listed items you may bring, if you also have a pair of boat shoes like Topsiders or Docksiders then you should wear them. Tennis shoes or other soft soled shoes are OK too. - Bring a cooler for food and drinks. Ask your Florida charter boat Captain how large of a cooler you will need to carry your fish home in. - A sports bag is a good idea to bring for carrying your rain gear, hat, glasses etc and other personal items that you need on a saltwater charter fishing trip. - Bring food and drinks. You are welcome to bring beer, wine or cocktails on the boat. - If you will be fishing in foul or rainy weather then you may want to bring some gear to keep you dry. - Bring sun glasses. Preferrably polarized fishing glasses to lessen the sun's glare that reflects up off the water. - A hat or ball cap is a good idea, especially for you guys that are getting a bit thin on top. Protect your head from the sun's burning rays. - Bring a camera to take snapshots of those big fish you catch or video of the beautiful offshore waters of Florida. - The Florida fishing region can get very hot during the summer. Make sure you bring sunscreen, especially if you burn. If you have sunburn then you can't enjoy your Fort Lauderdale charter fishing trip. - You probably already paid for the trip but you should make sure you have some cash in pocket so you can tip the First Mate. Being Mate on a charter boat is not easy work and these guys deserve every dime they get. Tip them well! - Gratuity of 20% is common.

Captain is optional.
You decide if you would like to book with or without a captain.
