King Salmon and Halibut Combos Fishing Trip in Ninilchik, Alaska
Join the excitement of fishing in Ninilchik, Alaska aboard a 27 feet Sport Fisherman for up to 6 people. Starting at $300 per person for 1 day. Rates: • Halibut Fishing (May & June): $225-$250 per person • Halibut Fishing (July & Aug): $225-$275 per person • Razor Clamming (May-Aug): $175 per person • King Salmon & Halibut Combos (May): $250 per person • King Salmon & Halibut Combos (July):$300 per person What You Can Expect: The charter begins with a short ride from Reel 'Em Inn to the beach at Deep Creek. We will launch the boat in the surf using the famous “Deep Creek Tractors” (quite a sight if you’ve never seen it). If you are on a combination charter, we’ll troll for about 3 hours along the beach before high tide for King salmon, then head out at high tide for the halibut. All the king salmon heading up Cook Inlet toward their home streams where they will spawn, pass by us first, and that can produce some really hot fishing. If you are on a Halibut only charter we'll depart from our place about an hour and a half before high tide. Occasionally we fish the low tide for halibut. As we hit the water you will be sitting on a comfortable seat under a full height hardtop, protected from the weather. The boats are equipped with porta-potties, all U.S.C.G. required safety equipment, and the latest electronics to help us find our fishing spots and the fish. You will be using high quality rods, reels, and terminal tackle. The fishing gear, bait and fish filleting are all included in the cost of your charter. The average Halibut charter runs 6 to 8 hours, add 2 hours for a combination charter. These times are dependant on the magnitude of the tide and weather. Please come prepared and on time, as the tide waits for no one. A world record (unofficial) halibut was caught just off Deep Creek in September of 1987 by a 70 year old woman. The halibut was 94 inches long and was estimated to weigh 466 pounds. There was not a scale large enough in town to weigh the monster! In 2002 the winning halibut in the Ninilchik Halibut Derby weighed in at 375 pounds. There are a few really big halibut caught in Cook Inlet each Summer. One may be waiting for you. What To Expect Onboard: You will be fishing out of a 26 or 27 foot vessel, specially set up to fish these waters. Six people maximum per vessel per Coast Guard regulations. Your skipper is U.S. Coast Guard licensed, insured and a very experienced guide. Our goal is to show you a good time on the Charter and hopefully fill your cooler in the process. We will provide all fishing equipment, bait, safety gear and the FUN! We also have raingear and boots available if you do not have your own. What You Need to Bring: • An Alaskan fishing license (we can sell these to you at our camp, cost depends on how long you get one for, lately it's been $20 for 1 day, $35 for 3 days, $55 for 7 days, $80 for 14 days. • If you are going King fishing you also have to have a King stamp, similarly priced) Warm clothes (hats, rubber boots, gloves, coat) especially in May and late Aug/Sept. • Raingear as the rear deck (where all the action's at!!) is not covered. • Bring whatever you want to eat and drink during the trip (8-10 hours, depending on weather and tides).
