Reservation Policies and Important Information: CANCELLATION POLICIES:    •    Changes to existing reservation's boat type, departure date, or time must be made at least 48 hours before the existing departure date and must be modified over the phone by calling the location in which the reservation was made. Changes cannot be processed online.    •    Any cancellation made more than 48 hours before the departure date will result in a cancellation fee that is 10% of the total reservation amount.    •    Any cancellation made less than 48 hours before the departure date will result in a forfeit of the total reservation amount and cannot be credited towards future reservations.WEATHER POLICIES:    •    In the event of bad weather, your reservation can be credited towards future boat rentals if the following conditions exist at the departure time: heavy rain lasting more than 45 minutes, lightning, tornado warnings, high wind advisories and/or any condition that Sheppard Rental Boats considers unsafe boating conditions. A reservation credit is not a refund and must be used towards a future boat rental.    •    Weather credits or rain checks can only be given in person on the day of the rental and are based on actual weather conditions on the lake at the time of the rental, not future weather forecasts. VISIT / DAY OF RENTAL INFORMATION:    •    The Renter and any additional drivers (“Captains”) must be at least 25 years old with a valid Driver's License and By Law must complete a Georgia DNR approved Boater Safety Training Course.    •    To complete the training course, follow these steps:    1    Visit www.BestInBoating.com/Safety (http://bestinboating.com/safety)    2    Select the location you plan on visiting    3    Take the free Rental Boat Safety Course    4    Upon successful completion you will receive a course completion card when you arrive for your rental.    •    Please check in 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time to ensure the entire rental time is allotted. Rental times cannot be extended due to late arrivals    •    A confirmed reservation will hold your vessel for up to 30 minutes after your scheduled departure time, after which it will be considered a "No Show" and the entire reservation will be forfeited.    •    The Renter MUST be present at check-in with (i) their physical driver’s license (ii) the physical credit card used to pay for the rental and (iii) completed Boater Safety Course. If there are additional Captains, they must also be present with their physical driver’s license and completed Boater Safety Course completion card(s).    •    A security deposit of $500 per vessel will be required on the day of rental and must be placed on a major credit card in the Renter's name.    •    Each rental boat leaves the dock with a full tank of fuel. Once the boat is returned and refueled the renter is responsible for the amount of fuel consumed during the rental time.    •    Boats cannot exceed max capacity    •    The total number of Captains (including the renter) is limited to 3 per reservation    •    A qualified lookout must be present at all times while pulling any towable accessories.    •    It is the renter's responsibility to ensure that all passengers and gear weight is properly distributed throughout the boat    •    Pets, open flames, grills, or cooking equipment of any type is prohibited INSURANCE AND RENTER LIABILITY NOTICE    •    The owner of this boat livery has an insurance policy which insures such boat livery but does not insure you. Any insurance policies that you may have may not cover damages or injuries caused directly or indirectly by your operation of a boat livery vessel. Per GA Code 51-1-22 (https://casetext.com/statute/code-of-georgia/title-51-torts/chapter-1-general-provisions/section-51-1-221-liability-of-an-operator-of-a-vessel-under-certain-conditions) you will be personally liable for such damages or injuries.  MOBILE INFORMATION PRIVACY    •    When you provide us with your mobile phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages from us for transactional purposes related to your reservation or service experience (e.g., confirmations, updates, check-in/check-out instructions, safety alerts, and other essential communications). Message frequency will vary based on your interactions with us. Standard message and data rates may apply.    •    We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your mobile information—including your phone number, opt-in status, or message history—with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your mobile information is used solely to support your service experience and facilitate necessary communications related to your transaction or rental.    •    You can opt out of receiving messages at any time by replying “STOP.”
