Charter the historic Reliance II vessel and spend a day fishing the waters of Newcastle for as little as $90! The Reliance II is a 38ft (11.5m) aluminium planing hull in full charter survey. Licensed to carry 16 passengers and 2 crew, the vessel is equipped with full safety gear, an electric on-board toilet, a large fully covered deck (removable), ample seating, icebox and dry storage area. The Reliance II was purpose built for the Grunsell's as the Government Shark Meshing vessel for the Newcastle area in 1981, and since then has carried out shark meshing contracts, charter and commercial fishing in the Newcastle, Swansea, Central Coast and South Sydney ports. Paul and the crew guarantee personalized service, catering for all levels of fishing experience - from the novice to the expert enthusiast. Top quality rods, reels, bait and tackle are supplied and all fishing licenses are included. Soft drinks are provided and you are most welcome to BYO alcohol on all charters. Full catering is available for charters with a minimum of 7 passengers. Captain Paul's crew will even clean and bag your catch at your convenience so that its all ready to take home at the end of the day! Paul has been involved in the Newcastle fishing industry for most of his life. His father, Bob Grunsell, began Government Shark Meshing in 1950, a family tradition which Paul joined in1976, eventually taking over in 1980.A diesel mechanic by trade, Paul's marine experience includes Government Shark Meshing in the Newcastle, Central Coast and South Sydney regions, as well as charter and commercial fishing in the Newcastle and Swansea areas over the past 30 years.Paul values his contacts with many of the local fishermen which enhances his own knowledge and experience of local fishing grounds.
