Hapuka, XOS Snapper, Kingfish, Marlin in Auckland

Come and chase XOS Snapper, Kingfish, Hapuka and other deep water species on a 2 or more day trip living aboard this comfortable long range Sport Fisher. Maybe even a little Marlin fishing as well. Fish the waters around Great Barrier, Cuvier, or the Mercury Islands. All remote and beautiful places to visit as well as fish in places that seldom see a boat. Price includes all fishing equipment and bait. Bring your sleeping bag, toothbrush, and cold drinks. Each trip departs the evening before so a 2 day trip is for instance Friday afternoon through to Sunday evening. This allows us to travel (weather permitting) during the night and wake up where the fish are on the first morning. Catering for all meals plus consumables is $45.00 per guest per day. This includes optional hot or cold breakfasts, lunch, afternoon snacks, and 3 course dinners. Sleeping accommodation is in 4 singles (forward cabin), a separate single berth in the companionway, a queen sized double (port cabin), and 2 fold out berths in the saloon. The skippers berth is in the flybridge. This is a quality operation on a quality boat purpose designed to do long range fishing trips. If you want to experience some really exciting fishing in some remote and beautiful spots, this is the trip to do it on. There is an option to do some game fishing for Marlin & Tuna in these areas during certain times of the year. If you want to include this as part of the trip there may be some small additional charges for extra fuel and game gear use. Typically around $30 per hour. For Hapuka and deep water fish the preferred months are May to October. To try some game fishing the best months are Feb to April. For big Snapper he best months are June to October. Hapuka, Snapper, Kingfish etc are available all year around, but the Dec -March Summer months are not as good as the cooler months. Temperatures vary from hot (~27degC) in the summer to cool (12degC) in the Winter. It does not usually get very cold in the Winter when you are staying on the water, but do bring some warm clothing and a light raincoat. The boat itself is warm all year around.
