Can I extend my trip once I am there?
Yes you can if we don’t have another charter after yours. An extra charge will apply.
What do I need to bring to the boat?
We supply all the ice, bait, fishing tackle, fishing equipment & licenses, and refrigeration for your food and beverages. Catering services are available. Please bring hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and foul weather gear. Shoes, soft soled or boat shoes. If wearing tennis shoes or flip flops, white or light colored non-skid soles, are preferred. Shoes with dark soles should be avoided. Camera, and video equipment, beverages, single serving cans or bottles. During warm South Florida weather, each person may require 6 to 8 beverages to stay adequately hydrated for a full day charter. Our salon refrigerator is available for storage.
Are you insured?
Yes, all of our fishing boats are insured with a minimum liability of $300,000 per person but most boats carry a one million policy.
I have a two year old; does he count towards the limit for the fishing yacht?
Yes he does, the Coast Guard defines people as “souls on board”.
I have one person that will not be fishing, so can I bring seven guests.
Six is the max allowed on fishing boats, whether the person is fishing or not.
Why I am allowed 12 guests on cruising vessels?
Cruising charters are under different sets of rules & contracts and there is no fishing allowed. Fishing involves different licensing that further restricts us compared to cruising.
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Yes.
What do we do with the catch?
After the charter arrives at the dock, your crew will clean, fillet, ice and bag your catch for you to take home at no extra cost. We are interested in catching real sport fish. We will normally go after bigger fish, even if it means that they will be caught and released. We believe that this is the reason for your charter. for your charter.
I want to catch fish to eat.
No problem, just tell us when you book or to your captain the day of the charter so that we can plan accordingly.
I want to ship the fish back home.
Our services end once we clean, fillet, ice and bag your catch. We do not ship fish home! However, most customers will ship via UPS with dry ice or will bring a small cooler with duct tape to take their catch home in the airplane with them.
Can you arrange for a restaurant to cook our fish?
Over the years, insurance regulations for most restaurants have gotten more stringent to prevent them from doing so. However, this is not true of all restaurants. Most reputable hotels with restaurants do know us and will make your wishes come true. Please check with the restaurant.
I am concerned with getting sea sick.
For most people, over-the-counter medications, such as Dramamine, seems to work fine. A common practice is to take a dose prior to bedtime the night before, followed by an additional dose just before departure. As with any medications, please consult a physician first. Other remedies include ginger ale and pressure bands worn on the wrist. Also, avoid alcohol the night before and eat something light like cereal and fruit the morning of your charter. Make sure you get a good night sleep.
What if it rains or there is bad weather?
Charters can only be re schedule in case of unfavorable weather conditions at Captain’s discretion. Sea sickness or rain is not considered unfavorable weather unless it is associated with thunderstorms and lighting. Just like a baseball game, there are no guarantees that it will not rain. However, if the rain is so much that the captain thinks that you will not be able to enjoy your trip, then at his discretion he will cancel the charter. Boating activities require some level of physical endurance and some weather tolerances as it is considered an outdoors activity.
