Kayaking tour in Vila do Bispo

This is an 18km paddle. La Villa Joyosa to the island: This is a great paddle as we see the coast but then we have to leave the comfort of the coast and head out to sea. The island is about 7km out to sea. The island is a wild life sanctuary, but has a small restaurant for the boats that stop. We have a light lunch of tapas while waiting for the favourable Levante wind to pick up so that it may blow us home.

We are based 10km from the most south western tip of Portugal (Cabo de San Vicente). The area is all a national park and has the beauty of an unspoiled landscape. Our base is on the south coast which offers us the freedom to do activities on either the south or the western coast with very little movement. The base is 300m from the beach with a quaint little beach restaurant/bar. We are surrounded by hilly scrubland of cork oaks and wild rock and the flowers in the spring are prolific and multi coloured. We are 3km from a small town (Raposeira) and 15km from Lagos which is a medium sized coastal town. The closest airport is Faro 100km east along the motorway.
