LOBSTER BOAT TOURS AND CHARTER Danny is a 35 year veteran of working on the ocean off western Cape Breton. A lobster fisherman for all of those years he also has experience in fishing for other species including tuna, mackerel. Your “Experience” Vessel - The Getaway Your time on the ocean will be on board the 44 foot boat, the Getaway. This boat is the vessel that Danny actually uses for his lobster fishing in May and June of the year. The Getaway is a Hutt fiberglass boat that is equipped with all required safety, communication equipment to ensure your comfort and peace of mind from the time you leave the dock. After lobster season is completed Danny’s modifies the vessel fitting it with a canopy that covers 2/3 of the deck area there by allowing for passengers to choose to be in a shaded protected area or to enjoy the sun. Transparent durable plastic sides can quickly be installed in the protected shaded area if weather conditions dictate thereby allowing maximum comfort in all conditions. TWO HOUR TOUR Departing from the wharf in the center of Port Hood (see google map) this tour will be highlighted by actually catching a live lobster but also includes much more . After reviewing the important saftey procedures and features you will leave the wharf in Port Hod and at once will feel a sense of adventure surrounded by the the Cape Breton Seacoast and Port Hood Island. As you make your way out to haul a lobster trap you find out about the fishery and it’s importance to the local economy, why fishing "gets in the blood".
