Named for a civil-war coastal defense artillery battery at the site, it stretches along the lower shores of the Charleston peninsula, bordered by the Ashley and Cooper Rivers which meet here to form the Charleston harbor. - • The Arthur Ravenel Jr Bridge - The Arthur Ravenel Jr Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge over the Cooper River connecting downtown to Mount Pleasant. It opened in 2005 replacing two obsolete cantilever truss bridges. The view of the bridge from the water especially at night is spectacular. - • Morris Island - Morris Island is an 840-acre uninhabited island in the Charleston Harbor, accessible only by boat. The island lies in the outer reaches of the harbor and was thus a strategic location in the American Civil War. Many people enjoy visiting the island to hunt for sea shells, sharks teeth and possibly uncover civil war artifacts. It is also well known for its red and white striped light house that serves as a beautiful backdrop for pictures. - • Lunch or Dinner Cruise - Lunch or Dinner Cruise options are plentiful with boat access to California Dreaming on Ashley River, Charleston Crab House on the Wappoo River, Wando River Grill on the Wando River and several options on Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant. Price of meal not included. - • Sunset Cruise - Sunset Cruise is a very popular option that offers an opportunity to soak in the beautiful Charleston horizon drenched in orange, pink and yellow hues. Enjoy a relaxing end to the day floating across the picturesque Charleston Harbor as the sun fades and the moon and stars appear. - • Bachelorette celebrations - Charleston is a popular destination for Bachelor and Bachelorette celebrations. What better way to make memories and capture them with photos from the boat. Bocce ball on the beach, swimming, sunbathing and great access to bars from the water.

We had the most incredible experience with Captain Barney and his wife Rachel for my bachelorette boat day in Charleston! From the moment I booked, he was super responsive, clear with communication, and genuinely excited to help us. The three-hour boat ride was everything we hoped for and more. Barney was a true expert on Charleston’s history and gave us a great tour of the harbor and surrounding landmarks. He also knew all the best picture spots too and took us to a gorgeous beach where we could walk around. We were also so impressed with how prepared they were! They provided towels, a cooler, ice, and koozies so we didn’t have to worry about bringing them. It truly felt like we were being hosted by friends who genuinely cared about making our day amazing. If you're looking for a fun, stress-free, and memorable day on the water, I can’t recommend Captain Barney enough!!

During our trip to Charleston, this was one of the highlights of our trip! We enjoyed Morris island, dolphin watching, the sunset in the marsh and open sea and just the overall freedom of what we were able to see and do from a boat. Captain Barney was a fantastic host and made everyone feel comfortable from the beginning of the trip and through an unexpected rainstorm.

Captain Barney & Rachel ensured we had the best time possible for our small bachelorette group. Easy to communicate with, great experience, and so fun. They come prepared so you don't have to bring a million things. Highly recommend!

Great time on the water!! The dolphins put on a show for us.

Captain Barney is the BEST!! This is the first time we’ve chartered a boat for just the 2 of us with a Captain, and we wanted it to be perfect because we wanted to renew our vows for our 30th wedding anniversary. Captain Barney was so easy and wonderful to work with, and thought through the plan of where he’d take us for the perfect spot for our vow renewal at sunset. His boat is pristine and he had towels, ice, bottled water, and sent us a detailed map of where he’d pick us up. The sunset cruise was so beautiful and relaxing, and he took lots of fantastic photos for us to have as memories. When we were done, he dropped us off at a restaurant on the water with a gorgeous view. We highly recommend Captain Barney if you want to have a fantastic experience with someone who is super fun, knowledgeable, and will deliver what you’re looking for! We will be back!

We offer a unique inshore cruising experience exploring the historic waterways of the Low Country. Climb aboard with Captain Barney and Captain Rachel and enjoy the sites while cruising comfortably on our deck boat, “it’s aboat time”.
