You don’t have to stop at all the places listed or follow the route exactly. So long as you return your boat to your end base by the date you've booked - you're free to enjoy your cruise however you like. For a comfortable pace, allowing you time to regularly stop and explore, we'd recommend an average of 2 - 4 hours cruising each day. Messac return via Rennes & Josselin... Next you turn south to see the mediaeval towns and castles on the Canal de Nantes à Brest, a fabulous trip through rural lands. Today, this pretty town is classified as a 'green tourist station' thanks to its excellent tourist and sporting facilities. Why not give it a try? • Pont-Rean Enter Pont-Rean by crossing its charming bridge entrance. There are many colourful landscapes to discover, especially at Le Boël which is located next to the city. The old stone-pit is also a lovely place to walk around. • Rennes Rennes is Brittany's dynamic capital city. There is a thriving architectural and religious heritage which can be seen when touring St Pierre's Cathedral, St Madeleine Abbey and St Germain church. Brittany's extravagant parliament building displays its extraordinary wealth through its decor...Consider taking a break in the splendid Thabor Gardens. Rennes is a very lively town with many things to do and see all year long. • La Gacilly From early May, La Gacilly is blooming with a wonderful, colorful display of flowers along the streets and bridges of the town. It is also home of the famous Yves Rocher cosmetic factory. • Malestroit Rich with history, Malestroit was one of the 9 baronnies" of independent Brittany and has maintained many impressive buildings from this period, including quaint, historic houses with timber framing that you can still admire in the old town. • Josselin Destroyed and rebuilt several times, the castle of Josselin is perhaps the most beautiful in all of Brittany. While here, take time to stroll through the narrow streets and admire the old houses clustered around the town centre. What to Expect Onboard: With two separate staterooms and additional sleeping accommodations in the saloon, the Tamaris is laid out with parties of six in mind. The luxury of a Tamaris boat rent is evident in the skipper’s stateroom in the rear with an en-suite bathroom and large double bed. A nice choice for a 32-foot canal boat! Interior and Saloon • The large central saloon is a focal point of the boat, with a spacious dining area with plenty of seating. The roof slides open to enhance your enjoyment of the exquisite natural surroundings. • You can sleep two more in the saloon, which has a convertible double or two single berths. • The saloon has an inside steering station with good visibility. • The kitchen/galley has a stove, sink, and an electric refrigerator. With lots of colourful food markets to visit, a barbecue is the perfect way to enjoy regional and local specialties, and alfresco dining on your sundeck. Please note: Available in one size only and is suitable for up to 8 people. Supplied with 2 gas bottles - each gas bottle capacity capable of fueling two barbecues a week. Additional gas bottles widely available for purchase from supermarkets, garages, shops and also from the bases (subject to availability). Additional gas bottles cost approx. €8-€10, depending on where you buy them. Not available in England, Scotland or Italy. • Groceries To save you the hassle of shopping (or maybe the supermarkets are closed when you arrive), let us get some groceries for you! Sundowner Pack All the “essentials” you need for your first evening on board: 2 bottles of local wine, 1 bottle of coke, crisps, 6 cans of beer, 1 bottle of lemonade, aperitif biscuits, 6 bottles of water, 1 bottle of juice, peanuts. Starter Pack All you need for your first evening and first morning on board: olive oil, kitchen towels, aluminum foil, salt & pepper, fresh coffee, croissants (packet), butter, milk, sliced bread, sugar, jam, 1 packet of biscuits and everything that's in the Sundowner Pack. Please note: Grocery Packs must be ordered at least 7 days in advance of your departure date, otherwise availability cannot be guaranteed. • Bike Rental From collecting your morning baguette to exploring more of your cruising area– the vast majority of our customers rent bikes to take on board with them. Flat tow paths make for easy cycling, while for the more adventurous, your new and changing surroundings are great for exploring on two wheels. As well as our adult bikes, we also have children's bikes, tag-along bikes and child seats available to rent from most bases. You can also buy helmets at most bases if you forget to bring your own. For added peace of mind you can also purchase bike theft insurance. • Early boarding and late checkout Why not get more time on the water and book an Early Boarding and/or a Late check-out service. Early Boarding enables you to collect your boat between 11am - 12pm, or from 2pm on the first day (instead of 4pm). Late Check-out means you can return your boat by 12pm on the last day (instead of 9am). Please note: Owing to operational constraints, it sometimes may not be possible to offer this service. • Wifi A 3G Mini router, which uses SFR Mobile Broadband, provides internet access wherever there is a mobile phone signal. Each unit can have a maximum of five devices connected at any one time. Signal speeds can vary depending on location and local coverage. Download limit of 5GB (4000mb) per week. • Deck cushions Why not rent a pack of deck cushions for extra comfort while you cruise? They also double up as sunbathing mattresses! • Ecological cleaning pack Help us preserve the waterways for future enjoyment by purchasing a pack of eco-friendly cleaning products which come in an ecological cotton bag. The pack includes: Ecological disinfectant spray, ecological kitchen spray, washing-up liquid, sponge, box of matches. • Cleaning service After a relaxing vacation, you probably don’t want to spend your last evening cleaning the boat. So why not pre-book our cleaning service and let us take care of the final clean of your boat. Then all you have to do is wash the dishes and bag up your trash. • Special occasion gift basket If you are celebrating a special birthday or occasion, you can pre-order one of our beautifully presented gift baskets, full of local delicacies and regional specialties. It will be waiting for you on board when you arrive. • Bring your dog! A boating adventure is the perfect kind of vacation to take your four-legged friend on. If You Cancel Your Holiday Cancellation Terms: To cancel a reservation, the Renter should notify the Company in writing. Period before departure in which you notify the Company and Cancellation Penalty: More than 70 days prior to departure date: Deposit is non-refundable Between 70 and 43 days prior to departure date: 45% of the total holiday cost is non-refundable Between 42 and 15 days prior to departure date: 60% of the total holiday cost is non-refundable Between 14 days and departure date: 100% of the total holiday cost is non-refundable If You Change Your Booking If, after our confirmation invoice has been issued, you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way, for example your chosen departure date (in the same season only), destination or boat, we will do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes to be made must be in writing from the lead name or your travel agent. The price of your holiday may increase or decrease to reflect the changes requested by you. You will be asked to pay an administration charge of US$140 (more than 70 days prior to departure) or US$250 (between 70 and 15 days prior to departure) per booking amendment and any further cost we incur in making this alteration and any increase in the cost of your trip. Please note that no changes or rescheduling are permitted less than 14 days prior to departure. Please check whether your holiday insurance will cover any changes or increased costs resulting from a change. You should be aware that these costs could increase the closer to the departure date that changes are made and you should contact us as soon as possible.
