Experience "The Caboose" Float House in Sitka, Alaska
Experience a Secluded Alaskan Float House! People often say they've come to Alaska and lived the dream, but they haven't really lived the Alaska dream until they've spent the night in solitude in a hidden bay aboard an Alaska float house. Enjoy this solitude for as low as $200 a night. Nothing goes better with your morning coffee than an Alaskan sunrise, a few visiting otter, and an occasional burst of air from a humpback whale passing by your secluded vacation float house. Sit back, and take in the sun kissing the sea at sunset with waves of red, gold and purple. Wake to the cry of an eagle hunting for its prey, and feel the power of a humpback whales call in the mist-filled night. Enjoy what the area has to offer from sea lions, harbor seals, bald eagles, deer, deep sea and fresh water fishing, crabbing, clamming, secluded trails, hiking, camping, Sitka raptor center, Alaska day festival, Sitka summer music festival and more. The cabin is usually located just 20 minutes from downtown Sitka, and requires the use of a boat to get to Sitka. If you do not have your own boat, there is an 18 ft. boat that is available for renting. And, if you'd like to combine your stay with a private fishing, hunting or sightseeing excursion, owner, Jim Phillips is a well-known hunting, fishing and sightseeing guide, registered with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
