Although most of our clients come to fish with traditional gear, many fly anglers show up to taken advantage of what may be the very best fly fishing for Kings in Alaska. Unlike other camps on the Nushagak, we own the land where the camp is built. This not only provides for the best king salmon fishing on the Nushagak, but it also allows us to invest in some of the most luxurious and comfortable accommodations you will find on the river, including heated cabins with carpeted wood floors, hot running water, electricity, showers, and a world class chef just to highlight a few. Our guides are seasoned professionals that fish year around in some of the top Salmon fisheries in the west. Each takes pride in the service they offer as professional fishermen practicing their craft. What To Expect Onboard: Finally, unlike other camps on the Nushagak that use small Jon boats, we have a large fleet of 20 to 24 foot Alumaweld high-power fishing sleds. This allows you to fish in comfort and safety, but most importantly, allows us to cover miles and miles of river daily to ensure the best and most productive fishing possible.
The Nushagak River flows 280 miles out of the Alaskan Range to Bristol Bay. Along its 280 miles, the Nush picks up tributary after salmon breeding tributary, including the Mulchatna, Nuyakuk and King Salmon Rivers, coupled with dozens of smaller tributaries, making the Nushagak River drainage the best salmon fishing in Alaska. More kings return to the Nushagak River than any other river in Alaska, with more than 100,000 arriving in June and July. A FISHERMAN’S PARADISE The Nush also plays host to tremendous runs of sockeye, chum and silver salmon, and has large resident populations of native rainbow trout, dolly varden, northern pike and Arctic grayling. All together, it makes the Nushagak a special place to enjoy the best fishing in Alaska!
