Hit the water in style with this Catalina 42 cruising monohull charter that has a capacity of up to 6. Rates start at $400 for 2 hrs and $175 for each additional hour. We do require all guests to be fully vaccinated for COVID 19 Our sailing tours San Francisco Bay are skippered, taking up to four passengers. We only do private sailing charters, so the boat is yours for the day. You may help with the sailing or simply relax and enjoy the ride- or do both. Rick your skipper, is a US Coast Guard licensed captain with over 30 years sailing experience in San Francisco Bay, New England, the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Mexico and South Pacific. He understands that your sailing charter is not just an adventure but moreover, an experience in knowledgeable hospitality. Gentle Storm II is a Catalina 42, built in 2004. Captain Rick is the original owner. Catalina 42s are known for being roomy, fast and comfortable. All over the world, these boats are seen as the number one production sailboat over 40 feet. Catalina 42s are extremely safe boats and comfortable long-distance ocean cruisers. But they have also competed in many long distance ocean races. They regularly do the Transpacific race to Hawaii and the Sydney- Hobart in Australia. The boat is right at home in big waves and wind. But first, they are comfortable family cruisers, easily sailed and driven.

My husband, parents, and I had an amazing time! Captain Rick’s awesome. He was very accommodating to my dad with mobility limitations, and he let all of us take the helm. We sailed from Sausalito, under the Golden Gate, and back to the Bay Bridge. I’d highly recommend sailing with Rick.

We had a wonderful time in the Bay and sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge with Rick. San Francisco Bay is an iconic, world class sailing destination, not to be missed if you're visitng from out of town. We took friends visiting from Canada and were fortunate to see sea lions, porpoises and even a whale! Rick's boat is beautiful and the princess seats on the 2 back corners where you can sit up higher with a great view can't be beat. We can't wait to go again soon!

Our afternoon with Rick was simply spectacular. We were able to experience all of San Francisco's microclimates, and special spots... fog and fog horns from the Golden Gate, heeling over in the bay with great wind, stunning views of the city, other fun sailboat regattas, calm and warmth of the back side of Angel Island...all while having lovely lite apps, fun conversation and James Taylor tunes. :) Rick is a great captain; we all certainly felt safe and confident in his knowledge, skills and ability. And he keeps beautiful Gentle Storm in tip top shape. We will be back for more adventures, Rick!

Rick was awesome. Very responsive and got us all set. We had a great day on the water. One of our group was an avid sailor and they had lots of fun doing sailing things while we enjoyed the ride and view. Highly recommend!

We had so much fun spending the day on Gentle Storm with Rick, and he even made special accommodations to ensure that my family and I got the most from the experience. In addition to being highly skilled and experienced, Rick is also upbeat and personable and a really great guy to spend the afternoon with. This really adds a lot to the experience and is something to look for in reviews. Communication was prompt and professional and I couldn't have asked for a better Captain and host. 10/10!
