Sail The Bay aboard the oldest privately owned yacht on the West Coast! Charters can be as short as 3 hours or as long as 5 hours. Freda is a historic sailing vessel, built locally on the Tiburon waterfront in 1885, and freshly refit for the charter industry. A professional USCG licensed captain and crew member will be your hosts for the duration of the trip. Freda is available for up to 6 guests, boarding throughout Sausalito at your request. Experience a piece of the Bay Area's waterfront history for your special occasion. Custom catering and local wine provisions are available upon request. Some of our classic offerings are listed below: Classic Charter Take Freda for a sail at whatever pace suits you! Our classic charter option can be as active or as relaxed as you like. Slow down and learn the ropes of a traditional rig and navigation techniques, or lock in for an exciting sail across the bay. Shorter routes can include Richardson Bay and the Sausalito waterfront, Raccoon Straights, Angel Island, and Belvedere cove. Book a longer trip if you'd like to cruise the San Francisco waterfront, circumnavigate Angel Island, or view Alcatraz Island. Jazz & Blues Cruise Cruise the Sausalito waterfront in style. Step aboard Freda for a relaxed sail to downtown Sausalito, where you’ll enjoy live music at Gabrielson Park as the sun sets over the bay. Pick a mooring ball and stay for the show, or raise the sails and continue the adventure into the bay Available July 10 - Late September Fourth of July Afternoon Sailing & Fireworks Viewing Charter sailing yacht Freda to celebrate 4th of July from the water. Book the afternoon trip to enjoy classic, sporty sailing conditions on the bay, or relax and watch the fireworks from deck during the evening trip. - Afternoon sail: 12:00 - 3:00 pm - Fireworks viewing: 6:30 - 9:30 pm Celebration of Life Honor your loved one with a meaningful tribute aboard our historic sailing vessel Freda. We offer private charters for ash scatterings, sea burials, celebrations of life, and memorial services, all set against the peaceful beauty of San Francisco Bay. Charters are typically three hours and can include routes along the waterfront, beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, or near Angel Island. We ensure a respectful, seamless experience so you can focus on remembrance, reflection, and honoring a life well lived. We can help with customization to include flowers, memorial toasts, sounding of 8 bells, and more.  Memorial charters can be booked any day of the week and are best suited for mornings.
