Pointe A Pitre Boat Rental
Poised on the southwest side of the island Grande-Terre, Pointe-à-Pitre is one of the most popular (and certainly the biggest) city in Guadeloupe. Since it faces the blue waters of the Caribbean Sea and is near the famous Rivière Salée (“Salt River”) it is not surprising that boaters and water-lovers in particular fall in love with the city and its many charms. If you are looking for a relaxed ambiance and the chance to embark on all kinds of watery adventures, then you might consider planning a trip to lovely Pointe-à-Pitre (especially during the drier, milder winter season).
Boating in Pointe-à-Pitre
There are many reasons to love Pointe-à-Pitre — not the least of which is its location. If you love saltwater, lush jungle scenery, and being immersed in a cultural environment that is equal parts Caribbean and French, then you no doubt enjoy your time in this incredible city. Lounging on white and black sand beaches, sailing on clear, cobalt waters, and diving to see diverse and beautiful marine life are some of the most well-known draws of the area.
Kayaking is also very popular in Pointe-à-Pitre, and nowhere more so than the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marine Nature Preserve. Here you can paddle your way through dense thickets of mangroves, as well as snorkel along a massive coral reef. During your tropical adventure, keep an eye out for pelicans, frigate birds, iguanas, starfish, crustaceans, sea cucumbers, and many other exotic flora and fauna.
