Kayak in Cape Town

Paddle the warm waters of False Bay with us and we'll show you some amazing things. We offer trips from the sedate to the adventurous but our most popular trip is to visit the penguins at Boulders Beach. We paddle every day of the year, weather permitting - not just the summer. The winter months are also wonderful for paddling because winter has more calm windless days than summer and on those days it is absolutely beautiful. Plus there is always a chance of seeing whales. Penguin Kayak Sea Trip: One of the most unique places in the world - a penguin colony in suburban Cape Town! And the best way to see it is from the water. The trip leaves from Simon's Town Waterfront and we paddle past the Naval Harbour and out to Boulder's Beach to see the penguins. If the time and tide is right we may stop on a beach for a swimming break and will generally be able to get a close up look at penguins on the rocks nearby. The daily scheduled trip leaves at 9.30am winter season and 8.30am summer season. The weather is generally better in the morning but groups of 4 or more can book an afternoon trip if it is more convenient. Cape Point Sea Kayak Trip: Price includes Park entry fee and water. You will need to supply your own lunch. Trip starts 9am and normally runs weekdays only. Duration 4-6 hours. Cost R950 per person. Full Moon Rising Paddle Trip: Duration 2 hours. Cost R300 per person. Advance booking is required. Trip dates 2015: 3rd May, 2nd June, 1st July, 30th July, 29th August. Kayak: Mid volume double sea kayak suitable for everything from day trips to extended open ocean expeditions. Handles well in rough conditions, while still being fast on the flat water. Very stable without being excessively wide, carries loads of gear without being bogged down, and still manages to be fun in the surf. Predictable handling in all conditions translates into a kayak novices appreciate and experienced kayakers enjoy.
