Your boating experience will be unique in that it does not take place on a yacht, but rather a classic 24 foot Mexican panga "Pipiripau". We offer the following tours: 1) Wildlife Observation Tour (3 hours, 2 person minimum). The tour starts in Esterito, a beautiful mangrove estuary in the northern most extent of the Bahia San Carlos. We will head towards Bahia San Francisco in order to observe a local pod of bottlenose dolphins that are frequently seen playing and feeding along the shore. Along the way we will pass pristine islands that serve as nesting sites for various bird species, such as blue footed boobies and brown pelicans. Before we return we will anchor in the beautiful and secluded cove of Shangri-La to enjoy freshly made ceviche as we discuss the days activities and observations. Weather permitting, swimming and snorkeling are encouraged! The following is included in the Wildlife Observation Tour : a) Marine Biologist: guide that will assist in the observation and identification of wildlife encountered. b) Equipment: various field guides, waterproof binoculars, and snorkeling gear (if applicable). c) Drinks: purified drinking water, mineral water, and various juices. d) Food: Freshly prepared ceviche served on tostadas with hot sauces for your choice. 2) Hourly Boat Tours (2 hour minimum). This tour allows you to observe the beautiful coastline of San Carlos at your pace and where you would like to go. A cooler will be provided for your use but note that nothing else will be provided during the Hourly Boat Tours. Please contact your host before any tour to confirm weather conditions, departure time, and if you would like to customize your experience and focus on a particular activity, such as snorkeling or fishing. Please indicate which of the two tours you are interested in going on. If you have any questions, we can answer those through GetMyBoat’s messaging platform before you pay. I have received a Master's in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona through the Marine Sciences program. Originally from Caborca, Sonora I have always had a profound appreciation of the Sea of Cortez, and the people who call this region home. I speak both English and Spanish at a mother tongue level, and am in effect bicultural. As a former educator at the University of Arizona, I have taught and coordinated numerous field trips to the coast addressing conservation and ecology issues pertinent to the Gulf of California and the surrounding Sonoran desert. I hope to inspire and share my appreciation and understanding of the ecology of the region of San Carlos with you!
