The Captain Our captain grew up spending his summers playing in the waters near his grandparents’ house in central Illinois. The small lake was home to various species of aquatic life like bluegill, bass, crappie, catfish and carp. His initial curiosity for the freshwater fish grew as he did. As his angling skills increased, so did his desire to spend as much time fishing as possible. Several years later, while completing graduate classes in New Mexico, he spent many days along the banks of the famed San Juan River in pursuit of rainbow and brown trout. When he returned to his hometown, Chicago, he continued to fish the waters of Lake Michigan and spent his vacations fishing all over Florida where his love for the saltwater fish blossomed. Additional Terms & Information

Booking and Cancellation Policy - To confirm your booking, We require a deposit. FAQs "How long have you been fishing?" - I've been guiding in the Keys for more than 10 years, but I've been fishing all my life. Check out my Bio page for more info. "What kind of fishing do you do?" - Fly fishing is my specialty, but I can show you a great time with a spinning rig too. "What's your boat like?" - I have three boats to accommodate all situations: two shallow-water skiffs and a larger bay boat, great for taking out families or hitting the near shore patch reefs. Check out the My Boats link for more info. "Where do we leave from?" - I typically launch from the Angler House Marina - a full-service marina with bay-side slips at mile marker 80.5. We can make arrangements to meet elsewhere if necessary. Just call me a day or two before the trip and we'll work it out. "Where will we go?" - The Everglades, Florida Bay and near shore Atlantic waters are my typical fishing grounds. "I want to learn to fly fish. Can you help me?" - Yes! A preliminary fly casting lesson can be scheduled on land before we ever hit the water. Once you're on the boat, the instruction continues and before you know it, you've caught your first fish on fly! "Can I book a day just for me, and one with my family and kids too?" - Of course. I love to foster the love of fishing in the next generation. Between the fishing and Florida's amazing wildlife, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
