A canal boating holiday in Brandenburg region of Germany with one of our stylish and self-drive canal boat rental! Book the 26' Sedan Primo Canal Boat ideal for 2 people. Rates as low as €1,305 per week. RATES: ● 1-Week: €1,305.00 ● Weekend (2 Days): €653 WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT: Live in harmony with nature during a canal boating holiday on the lakes, rivers and canals of Mecklenburg. Enjoy the sunsets on the lakes, watch hawks, ospreys and black storks fly by and sail alongside traditional rafts made in this region of Mecklenburg amongst wild and unspoilt nature. Departure Base Located in the heart of the Ruppiner area and at the crossroads between Mecklenburg and its numerous lakes and Brandenburg in the direction of Berlin, our base in Fürstenberg is ideally located for exploring the wilderness of this region by canal boat. Possible Places To See And Things To Do for 1 Week Rental ● Fürstenberg: impressive lakes, a castle and a history of porcelain manufacture The historic city of Fürstenberg is a great place for a boating holiday base – not only is it crossed by the Havel River but it is also surrounded by the lakes of Röblinsee and Schwedtsee. There are lots of places of interest in Fürstenberg so we recommend spending some time here before setting sail (or at the end of your boating holiday). A visit to the castle introduces the city’s porcelain manufacturing history via the ‘Porzellan Museum’. ● Himmelpfort: a stopover in Santa's country This tiny village of just 500 inhabitants is well known throughout Germany as being the place of residence for Santa Claus! You and your canal boat crew should look out for the small post office which is said to receive nearly 300,000 letters from children around the world every year. Another site to visit is the ruins of an old abbey which is set on a promontory between the four lakes of Stolpsee, Sidowsee, Haussee and Moderfitzsee. Foodies should also try the local speciality of smoked fish. ● Lychen: the city of timber rafts No less than seven lakes surround the village of Lychen meaning it is an excellent place to moor up and enjoy both life around the waterways and the surrounding nature. Take part in swimming, canoeing, fishing and hiking. A must-see is the museum that’s all about the traditional timber rafts that are famous in this region. Trace the history of their use in transporting wood from the local forests to Berlin. The tradition is still alive today – perhaps you will come across one during your boating holiday (on a more comfortable boat!) as you navigate the waters of the Havel River and the Woblitz River. ● Zehdenick: a waterside town with a floating museum and swinging bridge The small town of Zehdenick is a great stop-off point for a boating holiday along the Havel River. In fact you will see its main attractions from the comfort of your spacious canal boat – an intriguing swinging bridge and the lock. There is also a museum that covers everything about the waterways – you’ll find it on a 42 metre long barge that is moored up at the edge of the river! WHAT TO EXPECT ONBOARD: Perfect for first time cruisers, the Primo® is one of the latest self-drive cruiser from our boatyard and is a simple yet elegant model with a modern interior. The living area is extremely spacious and full of light thanks to its opening glass roof – a new development from our boatyard and inspired by that seen on some cars and sea-faring boats. The front cabin offers a double bed, plenty of storage space and en suite access to the shower room. To accommodate additional crew the table and bench in the living area converts into a comfortable double bed. At the rear of the boat the outside deck is on the same level as the living area and accessed by glass doors making it easy to enjoy views out over the water.
