About This Rafting Experience

Rafting :

On our South Fork American River Gorge half-day trip we launch directly from our Lotus-Coloma meeting location after the guides give you pre-trip instructions and set you up with paddles, PFD’s and optionally helmets. The trip meets in the afternoon after lunch unless you make special arrangements to include that.

The rafts enter the steep scenic granite canyon known as the ‘Gorge’ soon after getting on the river. The rapids occur frequently, with many Class 3-3+ rapids like Fowler’s Rock, Satan’s Cesspool, Bouncing Rock, and Hospital Bar and there are also numerous milder and fun rapids along the way. There are opportunities in quieter sections to take a swim.

This rafting trip ends at Folsom Lake where you are served ice cold drinks and we bus the group back to the meeting location.
