Boat Rental Terms & Rules Effective 2026 Season | Folsom Lake & Select Locations Operated by a Family-Owned Business in Sacramento, CA Requirements - Renter must be 21+ years old with a valid government-issued ID. - Driver must be 25+ years old, experienced, and present during the safety briefing. - All California Boater Card requirements ( Not required for renters) but recommended - Max 10 passengers on board – this includes children and infants. Weight limit enforced. Prohibited Activities - NO drinking and operating the boat – zero tolerance for boating under the influence (BUI). Violators will be reported to law enforcement. - NO smoking or vaping on board. - NO pets unless prior approval is granted. - NO beaching the boat or entering shallow, rocky areas. Rental Times & Late Fees - Rentals begin at the agreed time – late arrivals do not extend the rental period. - A $50 late return fee applies for every 15 minutes past the agreed return time. Safety Rules - Life jackets are provided and must be worn by all passengers under 13 (California law). - All renters must complete a safety walkthrough and rules briefing before departure. - The boat must be operated at safe speeds and according to posted lake regulations. - No night boating – all rentals must end before sunset unless otherwise agreed. Damage & Liability - Renter is fully responsible for any damage, loss, or towing expenses during the rental period. - A security deposit may be required and is fully refundable pending post-inspection. - We are not liable for injuries, lost items, or accidents due to renter negligence. - The renter agrees to operate the boat responsibly and follow all state/local boating laws. Cancellation & Refund Policy - Full refund if cancelled 5 days in advance. - 50% refund if cancelled 72 hours in advance. - No refund for cancellations within 24 hours of the rental or no-shows. - Full refund or credit if rental is canceled due to weather or mechanical issues at our discretion. Folsom Lake Only (Other Lakes by Request) - We handle launching and loading – renters do not trailer the boat. - We reserve the right to deny rental to anyone who appears intoxicated, unfit, or unable to follow safety instructions. By booking, you agree to all terms above and acknowledge full responsibility for the vessel and its passengers during the rental period.
