Rafting Trips in Cape Town
Tubing trips take place in the Plaatbos Nature reserve and Tsitsikamma National Park. It is only Blackwater Tubing participants that have access to the remote and picturesque areas through which our groups traverse. Our guides are trained, certified and registered as professional swiftwater safety guides in line with the APA standards. APA requires a minimum of level one first aid in order to obtain their guiding certification. However, most of our guides have obtained their level three certification and practical skills necessary to initiate and apply first aid treatment in any eventuality and environment. Full Day Tubing All full day trips require a 800m walk down into the gorge and a steep walk out at the exit. Participants are advised that a good level of fitness is required. On medium-high to high water (10% of our trips), the narrow gorge becomes too dangerous to access by tube and all operations are moved to the upper sections of the river where the river is at it widest and the pool and drop river system makes for a super fun roller coaster rides through rapids with apt names such as 'Rock n Roll,' Rollercoaster' 'Double Trouble' and 'Sally'. All full day storms river tubing trips are rounded off with a couple of cold one and a well deserved braai. Half Day Tubing The quick and easy half day will give you a good taste of adventure with a bucket load of fun. With a fraction of the physical exertion of the full day trip you'll take to the tea coloured waters of the upper Storms River. We spend 1-2 fun filled hours pool paddling and rock jumping along the safest and widest section of the river. Prices: Full Day Tubing - ZAR 900 / person Half Day Tubing - ZAR 545 / person
