Additional Terms & Information

Frequently Asked Questions:  Do I need a Boaters License? No. We will provide a Boaters Safety Checklist (Transport Canada Approved) which acts as a Temporary Boating License for the duration of your rental with us. We always recommend getting one as you only need to perform the test once and you have it for life. But don’t worry if you don’t have yours yet. Go ahead and make your reservation and on the day of your rental we will provide a Temporary Boaters License after your safety briefing and on-water orientation. Are reservations required? YES, you can make a reservation here. What qualifications do I need to rent? The Renter must be at least 21 years old, our company in its sole discretion, may refuse to rent the Watercraft to the Renter if our company determines that the Renter or additional operator is not competent to operate the Watercraft. Renter is in good physical condition sufficient for operating watercraft, knows how to swim, and knows of no reason why he or she should not participate. Only Renter s 21 years old or over may operate Watercraft. Children may not drive Watercraft. The Renter must provide a valid Drivers License and a proof of current motor vehicle insurance when renting the unit along with the trailer. Any other participants driving the motor craft must meet the same criteria and must be listed on the Rental Agreement. Are there any extra booking costs? Yes, of course tax is applicable. This charge is displayed as taxes and fees and billed at checkout. What am I responsible for when I rent? Renters are responsible for all physical damage to equipment. A Rental Agreement and release of liability, waiver of claims, assumption of risks and indemnity agreement must be signed by Renter and a pre-authorized credit card deposit (or cash or transfer) which ranges by item rented from $750 per rental unit, up to $3000.00 per rental unit; is required as a security damage deposit. Which payment methods do you accept and what is your reservation deposit? 50% of your rental total is required on date of booking. We accept Cash / Visa / Mastercard / Amex/ PayPal and Interac e-transfer. The Damage Deposit is due on the day of your rental. The name on the credit card must match the name on the rental agreement. If you choose to use Interac e-transfer for payment please do so 30 minutes prior to your rental time to avoid delays in receiving. How does the damage deposit work? Every unit will undergo an inspection prior to and after your rental. Renters are responsible for any and all damages sustained to rental equipment, persons, or property as well as loss or damage of accessories onboard during rental period. The cardholder must be present to sign for the damage deposit and the rental agreement. If the rental is returned free of damage, your deposit is usually refunded within 24 hours if there is no damage but can take up to a week. Can I see the Waiver that I have to sign to rent? We will provide once booking is confirmed and ensure that you are willing to agree to the terms. You agree to be bound by these terms when you sign the rental agreement at time of reservation. They are for the protection of us all, and to ensure that the next to rent the equipment are treated fairly (for example, to ensure you return the rental on time so that it is ready for the next rental customers.) Can I purchase additional insurance? The renter is responsible for ANY damage incurred during the rental period. If you wish to purchase additional coverage we suggest the following: Check with your credit card provider, as often they offer insurance as long as the rental is made on their credit card. Contact your car/home insurance company, many policies allow for additional coverage for the duration of the rental as a rider on your existing insurance policy. The best thing is to simply treat your rental with care, as though it was your own, and refrain from using it in water where you don’t know how shallow it is. Most people return their rental without any damage and receive their entire deposit back. What is your cancellation policy? Feel free to grab your spot months in advance. Reservations fill up fast! If your plans change, cancellations can be made AT LEAST 7 days prior to Rental Period start date and you will be issued a full refund. Reservations cancelled inside 7 days will be provided a gift card to rebook when convenient. Date change requests are subject to availability. What about weather? Only our company reserves the right to cancel this rental agreement due to inclement or impending bad weather that would prevent the safe operation of the watercraft. Rental fees will be prorated based on time used. If the entire rental is cancelled by our company we will issue a gift card for you to rebook. Is my rental guaranteed? Kinda. While it’s usually not an issue, our company’s ability to provide a rental watercraft, when reserved, is contingent upon and subject to the return of the unit by the previous lessee, or any other cause beyond LESSOR’S control. In the unlikely event that your Watercraft is not available, we will make it up to you with a full refund and an offer to rebook at a later date. Where do I pickup my rental? In-water rentals will be ready for you at the Sandbar Restaurant at Puce River Harbour. On Trailer Rentals will be picked up at our boat yard. We'll provide the exact location once booking is confirmed. When do I pick up and return the rental? Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your booking time to perform the watercraft orientation and safety briefing. All participants must be present. All rentals must be returned by end time of your booking and date stated on contract. Failure to do so will result in additional charges of up to $50 per each 30 minutes late. What size trailer hitch? All of our trailers use a 2″ Ball. Do you offer delivery service? Yes! We will deliver to most any Ontario location. Our fee is $0.80/ km round trip for pick up and delivery. Just let us know if you want us to deliver when you make your reservation? After we drop off the rental, and the customer has sign ed acknowledging receipt, we do not assume responsibility for stolen or lost/ damaged rentals. How long does the safety briefing and rental check-in process take? We suggest 30 minutes depending on the equipment you’re renting. It is helpful if all your online documents are signed ahead of time to save time during the check in process. We will send you a reminder the day before to complete any outstanding paperwork. It is also important to arrive on time so that we can keep on schedule. Do we have to bring Life Jackets, or do you provide them? During your reservation booking we will ask for participant info and size of life jacket. Please do your best to answer so we can prepare for your rental. We have a wide range of sizes of life jackets and will provide them to you free of charge for the duration of the rental, so you do not have to bring life jackets with you. The only exception would be if you have a baby or very small child, you should bring an appropriate life jacket with you. The best life jacket is the one you wear, so feel free to bring your personal life jacket if you like. Is alcohol or drugs allowed on board? NO! Our boats do not meet the legal requirement to have alcohol or narcotics on boat and are strictly prohibited. Can anyone else operate the watercraft? Any additional operators must sign the Rental Agreement at time of pickup with the named Renter present. A maximum of one other operator per vessel can be listed at no extra charge. What if I damage my rental? Notify us immediately. We have a chase boat to provide support and relationship with towing companies. Should any rental have any damage more than reasonable wear and tear, the renter will be billed for the repair. Our company at its sole discretion will determine what “reasonable wear and tear” is. In a dispute, an official quote will be obtained by the authorized boat dealer/ authorized repair centre. Am I allowed to tow wakeboards, skis, tubes and other water toys behind my rental? No sorry. This can be a dangerous activity and as such it is prohibited by our insurer. Can I take the rental anywhere I want? You can take our equipment to any Ontario lake that you want to. There are no travel or destination limitations. We do ask that you let us know where you are taking the equipment. You must respect local waterway regulations. What about our Privacy? We uses tracking devices on all of our boats. These are used to ensure our assets are secure and within Ontario. This information is collected and stored for up to 3 years. This information may be used as proof of damage or used in any case to assist us in a dispute. What if I have a question not answered here? No problem! If you have any questions, we can answer those through GetMyBoat’s messaging platform before you pay. Just hit, “Send Booking Inquiry” and send us an inquiry for a custom offer. Should I book now or wait until my desired date is closer? It is better to reserve your spot now before the peak season starts. Reservations open March 1st year.
