We had an excellent day out on the water! Our capitaine suggested a cute cay for us to snorkel around. We saw lots of fish and a barracuda! Lunch was also provided and was delicious!!
We here at Kaimani Marine Tours are happy to be a family run business! And we’d like to introduce ourselves! Our little son Ashton considers himself a tour guide in training 😉 and at age four already an expert fishermen 🎣 If you get to go on a tour with him he will likely show you up as he nearly always catches the biggest fish 🐟. Our boat The Virgil, is named after his middle name. Then there’s our free-diving, species ID expert, conservationist Tessa. She’s only six and responsible for our ongoing conservation projects including quarterly beach 🏝 clean ups and is even getting political 🇧🇿 about it! Kaimani is her middle name - Ky’Mani is African for ‘adventurous traveler’ and Kamanu is Hawaiian for ‘power of the ocean’ 🌊 - combine those two variations and we have quite the spirited girl in our company (and name). I (Stacy Martin) have a degree in marine biology and conservation genetics, and aside from our tour business I am still proud to work closely with Belizean NGO’s as well as NOAA on climate change research. I believe sustainable tourism will be a major part of the solution in conserving our seas 🌎 so I’m passionate 💞 to grow the industry as well as provide employment! Then there’s the big man Asha! Who grew up in Punta Negra with a love for fishing 🎣 and cooking 🥘 that’s uncontainable! He also shares the families passion for conservation and is a strong advocate for the ban 🚫 of gill nets and oil drilling in Belize! Make sure to ask him about his secret ingredient, or hear one of his many songs 🎶 lol he’s not shy!So that’s us at Kaimani Marine Tours! We’d love to meet you and share our love of the sea, passion for conservation, and show you these gorgeous waters of Southern Belize!!!
