Cruise the beautiful and historical Hudson River on a catamaran pirate ship. Optional pirate games available on board: Treasure hunt with escape room style puzzles, murder mystery dinner game, poker with pirate coins and gold bars instead of chips, etc. Or just enjoy the ride and the gorgeous views. The quoted price includes a USCG master 25 ton licensed captain and a first mate, however they are to be paid separately after booking here. The captain will drive the boat and the first mate will assist the captain at times, but will mostly be available to see to your needs, including serving any food or drink that you bring aboard. A discounted rate is available for groups of 6 or fewer passengers, as this allows for a captain with the easier to obtain OUPV license. You may also provide your own captain and crew, if you know someone with the required USCG license. For groups of 7 or more passengers, the renter is also responsible for paying separately for fuel at a rate of $15 per hour of trip. Yes, the multiple different payments thing is weird, but it is what Coast Guard rules require for boat charters.

You’ll get helpful information for your departure after your booking is confirmed.

Bookings will not be cancelled for weather unless the captain deems the conditions unsafe. Pirate Cat has a large indoor seating area and many fun pirate games, and the weather can change fast on the Hudson River. Some of the most beautiful maritime views are of sunbeams shining through rain clouds. If your party is late to the dock, or departure is otherwise delayed, it does not change the ending time of your trip, so please try to arrive 10-15 minutes early. Safety considerations and boat rules will be explained before launch and the captain may choose to cut the trip short if rules are violated. Pirate Cat is a no smoking boat. Vaping of legal products is allowed on the exterior decks, but not in the interior cabins of the boat. Passengers under the age of 13yo, and older minors who do not swim well, are required to wear a life vest whenever they are on the outer decks of Pirate Cat; within the interior cabins they may remove it. Adults who do not swim well may choose for themselves, but life vests are strongly recommended.
