About This Rafting Experience

Kayaks and Paddle Boards are boring.

Exploring the rivers and lakes of TN at $15 an hour is one heck of a deal.  The best of both worlds between rafting and motor boating. Launch/land where the kayaks can and other motor boats can't.  Motor long distances to where the kayaks can't and other boats can.  There is plenty of capacity for people and gear.

Tired of normal camping and crowded campsites?  I will tell you where the best river and lake islands for camping in TN can be found.

Originally designed for getting to and from an anchored sailboat, this inflatable dinghy is perfect for a thrilling adventure on the waterways of TN.  It is fast, light, and easy to operate.  Whether you are an experienced boater or total rookie, this will not disappoint.  With one person, it provides almost as much of a rush as a jet ski, but with superior utility.

Rental Requirements

1. Removable transom wheels - these protect the prop from striking the bottom in shallow draft areas and allow one person to easily wheel the boat in and out of the water where other boats simply can not launch.

2. A 2000 Johnson 9.9hp 2 stroke motor.  This motor has been freshly tuned up with all possible maintenance.  It runs like a top and starts first pull.  This boat will achieve planing speeds with up to 500 pounds of persons and gear and a slower pleasure cruise of the lake with 3 passengers beats sitting around any day.

3. A full 6 gallon fuel tank.  At planing speeds the boat typically gets about 20mpg which is roughly 1 gallon per hour at 20mph.  I have personally covered more than 60 miles in a single day on half a tank of gas with a passenger on board.

4. An inflatable keel with wood floor.  This is a feature which allows the boat to ride a little softer in chop than your typical aluminum flat bottom john boat.  Sitting on the inflatable tubes provides for a comfortable ride.

5. All necessary safety equipment required by law for operation in TN waterways.  Please note it is rated for a maximum load of 1,100lbs including persons and gear.  Unless you and your friends are bruisers it is pretty tough to exceed.

6. Optional items that can be useful for traveling, camping, or fishing like an anchor, drift anchor, lights, etc. are available for a reasonable extra cost.

The above rate is good for delivery to the downtown river front of Nashville or a launch ramp between Cleeces Ferry and Shelby Park.  I can also deliver to other nearby lakes like Percy Priest, Tim's Ford, etc. for a small fee.

If you have a pickup truck or large SUV you are free to transport it to the body of water of your choice provided we discuss it and I agree it is a suitable spot.
