18' Fishing Charter in Ochopee

Everyone is welcome, from the most experienced angler to the novice, and a no pressure trip is guaranteed. When we leave the dock in Everglades City or Chokoloskee, you will be aboard one of the classic skiffs of the Florida flats, the Mako 181. I can take up to three people on a charter and even though this is a broad beamed skiff with ample capacity, you will want to pack lightly. Usually one gear bag for a party is enough to keep all your personal supplies together. What to bring: You will need polarized sunglasses, a hat, sunblock, bug spray, something to eat and a wind breaker, (you can check with me a day or so before your trip for a weather / gear update.) I’ll have a cooler on board with a supply of ice and water. I have all the equipment we’ll need and more but you’re welcome to bring your favorite rods and lures, just let me know beforehand so I know what to pack. I use Penn reels and Ugly Stick rods because they’re tough and we’re going to abuse the heck out of them. Please don’t drop them overboard. You do not need a personal fishing license when you’re on a trip with a Florida charter captain. Rates: Charters are for one, two, or three people and usually last eight hours or more on a full day charter. I’ll do half day charters as well, so call me to find out what’s biting and to discuss a plan for your trip. Full Day - $550.00 for 2 anglers / $600.00 for 3 anglers Half Day - $425.00 for 2 anglers / $475.00 for three anglers Required Deposit - $100.00

As a Native Son I have been a fishing guide for most of my life. I started working at a young age on my father’s charter boat the ‘Music Maid’ out of pier 5 in Miami, first as a deckhand and later as first mate. Over the years I’ve worked as a guide and fished from Key West to Biscayne Bay, to Flamingo and on to the Gulf Coast waters of Everglades National Park and the Ten Thousand Islands. This has given me a lifetime of tribal knowledge about the fish that roam these waters and I’ve developed my own tried and true tactics to catch them. And catch them we will. When you fish with me I’ll use all the tools in my arsenal, live bait, cut bait, jigs, shrimp, popping corks, as well as artificial lures and plugs. Whatever it takes to catch fish! I will put in a one hundred percent effort to provide you with a great day of pure fish catching fun.
