The country gets its nickname as the Spice Isle because it is a leading producer of cinnamon, cloves, ginger, mace, allspice and nutmeg. Beautiful beaches make up the coastline, including the 1.9 mile-long Grand Anse Beach in St. George Paris, which frequently appears in Top 10 lists of the world’s greatest beaches. The marine life is spectacular here and you’ll spot turtles, rays, dolphins and a spectrum of tropical fish. From our base you can sail onwards to Union, Mayreau, Tobago Cays, Mustique, Port Elizabeth, Bequia, St. Vincent and St. Lucia. It’s easy to get involved in local culture with festivals and carnivals ashore or on the water with sailing weeks and regattas. Whether it’s relaxing on a deserted beach, swimming the corals, hiking rainforests or exploring centuries-old forts, Grenada radiates Caribbean soul with a Calypso beat. Weather Grenada has a tropical climate which is warm all year round with temperatures between 72°F and 85ºF. Temperatures are cooler in the dry season, which lasts from December to May, when they are cooled by the trade winds. The rainy season is hot and humid. Grenada suits sailors of all skill levels, who will revel in the unspoiled lands of the Windward Islands. Sailing conditions are slightly more challenging than those found in the British Virgin Islands, but still offer short passages and breathtaking scenery. Frequently Asked Question Everything you need to know about bareboat yacht charters. What is a bareboat yacht charter? A bareboat yacht charter is where you hire the boat for you and your guests and intend to sail yourself or hire one of our skippers to sail it for you. Where do you offer bareboat charters? We have +50 destinations worldwide and +1,000 yachts, including the Caribbean, Bahamas, Pacific, Indian Ocean, Asia and the Americas. What licenses do I need to hire a yacht and sail myself? The skipper of a yacht has primary responsibility for the safety of the crew and yacht at all times. To charter in the Mediterranean, you must hold an ICC (International Certificate of Competence) or RYA Day Skipper (minimum) qualification. One sailing license is mandatory for bareboat charters in Italy, Sweden, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Seychelles, Montenegro, Brazil, Thailand and Spain. The original certificate must be taken with you on your charter. We advise you to contact our team about your qualifications and the destination requirements before booking. By accepting the yacht contract you are confirming that you and/or members of your crew are capable and competent to sail the yacht in the conditions and cruising area of charter. We reserve the right not to hand over the yacht if, after inspection, it is the opinion that the charterer is not, or may not be competent to be in charge of the vessel. You can pay a higher damage waiver deposit at the base, which is fully refundable if there is not any damage or loss to the boat, dinghy and equipment. The damage waiver, or refundable security deposit, is designed to cover one incident of a substantial nature at any one time. In the case of loss or damage to equipment of significant value, such as the outboard engine or dinghy, you have the right to an immediate replacement while on the charter What is not included?
